He doesn't even HAVE children (at least none that will admit to it. Oh but he does. He has two small boys....right there for all to see on his website.

I see a whole lot of people on here that need to spend a day or just a few hours working in a classroom with Special Needs Children, or volunteering in a Day Program with Special Needs Adults.

People just do not understand what it is like to raise or work with special Needs. I am glad that Special needs are put in regular classrooms, The Little guy I worked with is in a regular class a few hrs. a day, and the kids in that class I call "the class with a heart" They since Kdg. involve him. I wish everyone was like the children in his classroom.

Mike wrote: Autism is that big fat hairy myth that people use to try to justify their kid's bratty attitudes. There is no genuine dysfunction known as Autism. Instead of looking for ways to get around the severe corporal discipline that kids need, parents will revert to the mental disfunction d' jour. Spare the rod and spoil the child. Beat the kid and make him or her see Jesus. As the great radio comentator Michael Savage has taught us, " autism is a fraud, a racket. I'll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out. That's what autism is." I sincerely believe Mr. Savage and you should too less you have the socialistic beliefs of a traitor who would desicrate the Constitution of the United States of America and everything it stands for, including the Lord Our God. Autism, like man cased global warming, is a fraud perpetuated by the internal enemies of America. You are truly an idiot. Not one of us parents asked for our children to have autism. My son is 11 and he doesn't have behavioral problems as you mention. He has the inability to write any more than his name, yet his IQ is off the charts. He has sensory problems, he lacks social skills that allow him to make friends; not because he's mean or acts out but because he doesn't have the ability to understand social cues. You are very ignorant in making such a statement when autism doesn't always include outburst of bad behavior or behavorial problems. These children are intelligent, loving and wonderful. It's people like you that need to be beat so you can see Jesus.

Mike wrote: <quoted text> Depends on what you infer by "uneducated". I barely made it past the 8th grade but probably have a hell of a lot more common sence than you and your fellow teachers unionistas. Autism is just another Machiavellian way of allowing the lefties to get away with anything with the end justifying whatever the means to accomplish it. Had two kids who tried to act "autistic" after entering their "terrible twos". Amazing what a folded belt on the kid's bare butt & 20 swats can do to "cure" the autism myth. It is far better to be feared than to be loved. But you lefties will NEVER understand that concept. You will always appear weak to your kids and allow them to walk all over you with the dysfunction d' jour as an excuse for avoiding your parental responsibilities. Again your sheer stupidity shows. I am a Christian mom who firmly believes in discipline and teaching respect as the Lord instructs. Beating our autistic children won't "fix" them, but beating the crap out of you would make a few of us here feel much better, but no one can fix stupid and your Sir are exactly that!

After all, torture and beatings were pretty useful by the Catholic Church during the Holy Inquisition for converting pagens, heathen, Jews and Muslems to the "one true faith". And after the Protestant Reformation, Catholics burned Protestants at the stake as did Protestants burnt Catholics at the stake. Who were actually the truer Christians here? Who would Jesus himsef beat or torture in order for him/her to receive the true faith? Lady, it's pain to see right through you and your phoney faith. After all, forced faith is no faith at all. Shalome!

Mike, please learn how to spell sense. I have an autistic son and he is in no way a brat. He gets disciplined, but he will never be "normal". He does not think like other children in most real life situations. He doesexcellent in school, and with his peers. He is 98% in the general classroom setting, but he does not think for himself in real life situations. Crossing the street, telling me he got sick, saying hello to strangers... I could go on an on, but Mike is obviously just talking out of his ass.

Its funny how both the radical left and radical right will say autism doesn't exist. Right-Its all lack of discipline, bring back spanking! Left-This is just a label society puts on nonconformists. Down with labels! Mad Acceptance! Neurodiversity! Both are true to an extent(except we don't need spanking, studies show its ineffective anyways, although light spanking isn't particularly harmful and anyways we shouldn't blame parents who spank, a lot of factors lead to them resorting to that). Some parents probably overwhelmed already by work take their kids in to doctors who are all too happy to diagnose them with everything there is so they can push expensive pills and therapies. Don't blame the parents though. Our system puts them, especially lower-income parents under an extreme amount of stress with little relief. Its no wonder parents are giving up earlier and earlier these days. On the other hand our society keeps narrowing the range of acceptable experience. Parents are bombarded with "if you're child doesn't learn X by this time they probably have Y." and they panic. Or a kid is a little geeky or nerdy or just doesn't fit in and his parents or himself assumes he's disordered. Considering there are tribes in primitive societies that have been observed to have no problems with any kind of mental disorders I think we can conclude that nobody has an inherently "Bad brain" just brains that are more susceptible to the problems created by civil society(read some Rousseau, he's shockingly accurate about how civil society corrupts human nature) or alternatively that are less susceptible and then are misunderstood by all the conformists. Usually a little of both. Doesn't mean people don't have real problems that need help, just the problems are caused at their root by social factors. Any chemical differences found are just chemistries that interact with social factors in certain ways. Since society defines "disease" we should think critically about whether something is really a problem or just a difference and to what extent its a problem and even if its possible to make it "not a problem".
