Well sounds like just another thing where the school bus
driver isn't allowed to control what goes on the bus.
Why don't you just hand the little shits a gun and let
them shoot themselves.
God knows if they flunk and the parents complain they
are passed.
I'm don't work at a school or drive a school bus, but
I'm 62 years old and I know letting them police themselves
and run the show is not working for kids, and the
parents of this generations kids are stupid!
Let them get away with murder.
Why do kids need a cell phone anyway.
You want to know why, the parents will tell you
they need contact.
Pleeeesssse. Thats not contact! Contact is quality
time spent!
All these suckers do is bad stuff with their cells
phones and every adult knows it. How many times
have we walked through the malls or the parking lots
and heard the language and the bad converstations about
what their planning to do. These kids are suppose to
be southern babtist down here, and the language they
use isn't fit for a dog, let alone the grammer!
If the bus driver needed to take the phone away, oh
well, let her or him. Who knows better than the
only adult on the bus.

Not all kids are like that.My child has a cell phone because of where we used to live her school
had to be in lock down and we could not get in touch with anyone for information. She is responsible with her phone. You are right though about the parents not teaching some of these kids respect. Parents are afraid of setting limits and rules, What happened to parents being the parent.
I was raised that way and I raised my child that way. I am the rule maker and there are punishments when you break the rules.

Thought you weren't from around these parts.
Rules, limits, consequences!
That's the way we were raised too. I'm from
the midwest!

Our neighbor told her kids, go out have fun,
just don't get caught.
Seems like that is the way things are here.

Guess thats why my house got robbed three times,
and I could tell they were teenage girls because
they only took jewelry and didn't even know
the good stuff.

No TV's were missing, says a lot about this
new generation when they pass plasma TV's on
the wall. Or maybe they just didn't know
how to get them off the walls since they were
girls!

I don't have a lot of respect for the kids
here in the south, especially this part of
the south. Here they drink to excess and
then go out and demolish their cars, and
mom and dad just buy them another.

I hate to think what it's coming to with
this generation.

If you got good kids, thank god for you hon!

Sickofit, leave, its as easy as that! You don't think that any of the bad things that are happening here are caused by people who have just moved here? Get real. Funny 15 years ago when the area was still mostly locals we didn't have this crime. If you live south of I-10 you probably don't even have any locals living around you. Oh and I moved here 17 years ago from Ft. Lauderdale. So I am not a local but have lived here long enough to see the trends.
Hey New Yorker, aren't you at the wrong end of the state? You should be farther south, lol.

Oh and cell phones don't belong in schools OR work places. How do you teach your kids to put down something you can't even put down yourself!

That is not fair to blame the people that just moved here for the trouble. Kids are not learning from other kids they are learning from what they see at home. I had my home base in NY but I lived in Tampa for awhile and have many family members who are locals from all over florida including south Fl. If you ask most people who have lived here for many years they aren't locals either.Well I guess people have got to blame someone for the problems and thank you sickofit.
Have a great Day

Well southern Girl,
Believe me if it were as easy as that I would
be out of here.

My husband has a good job here and we own a home.
If you are not aware, I must tell you that the
housing market is in the dumps and is going to
be slow to recover.

I have no doubt I'm going to double my money,
but I want a little better than that,
But believe me as soon as my home sells,
you shall have your wish missy!

We will transfer to bigger and better.

By the way I have been in the south 20 years
myself and lived from Davie, to lauderdale,
to leesburg.

Infact I have lived my life all over the
country, and I have never seen a town
run like this.

There is no such thing as southern hospitality.

Just my opinion

new resident,
Welcome hon, if you lived in my neighborhood
I would have brought you a house warming present.
Thats the way we did things where I came from.

I have a lot of relatives in miami, Boca,
titus, and Fort Pierce. They all came down
in the fifties.

I remember visiting here when every house on
Coral Gables was built on it's own little island.
There was a bridge from island to island.
It was beautiful.

Now there are 192 ethnicities in South Florida,
I don't mind that, but english is a second language, and I have a big problem with that.

So I moved up here.

When one of my nieghbors moved in I sent her
a beautiful basket of things with a note that
said welcome and a note with a my e-mail addy,
and phone # should she need to call me for
anything. We're awfully far out and the
closet store is almost 20 mins.

I never heard a thing, not even a thank you note.

Then one day I had a garage sale to sell some
things I had in one of my stores and she came
to that, I gave her a bunch of good deals, and
I mean good deals. Then my husband took her
in the house because she wanted to see it and
when she came out she was all crappy to me.

Guess she had what she wanted and saw the
house, now she could be crude again.

Haven't seen her since, but I did find out,
they were just from town anyway, they have
a business in the historic area downtown
or something.

I went to the gas station here and a young
man looked at my car and said gee grandma
I think you got to much money.

Your right there is no respect anymore.

If I sound bitter, your right. I was nice
to these ppl and tried very hard for three
years, but after incident, after incident,
I'm done.

Good luck hon, I hope you find some nice ppl.

I can understand having rules against phones in class, but why do they have a rule against using them on the bus?

because when you use it on the bus it means you carried it into the school, and letting you use it on the bus just promotes you bringing it to the school! Listen kiddys if your like my kid who is in high school here your real teachers were fired because the ole fla. lottery just doesn't seem to be doing that much for the schools, but the important ppl, the coaches, are now your teachers, sure they don't know the subject their teaching and freely admit it, but they are coaches and sports here are more important than education. So put the phones away and pay attention in class, your gonna need all the help later you can get. Text spelling is a lot different than the real thing.

Teachers can tell you the truth about cell phones in school:
1 the call one another endlessly
2 they do not pay attention in class
3 they disrupt classes/learning of others
4 they steal one another's phones
5 They listen to music
6 they buy drugs on phones
7 they cell drugs on phones
8 they hook up for sex on phones
9 they arrange gang fights
10 they recruit gang memberss on phones
ETC
Do you want your children in school to learn or to socialize/participate in such questionable activities?
Cell ohones make classroom discipline a living hell.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aries

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
