People wake up and quit following like sheep.
The Government is using children to take away civil rights. Once someone gets use to not having civil rights they won't miss a thing. This country is slowly turning socialist.

"The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation." - Adolph Hitler (Mein Kampf)

If they got suspended for a year for posing with a card board cut out of Bart Simpson than the girl in Texas that attempted to wear what she called a dress to her Prom should have been expelled.

I agree with you...this is crazy!!! Thats the girls personal website. The girl in that so called "dress" shouldve gotten some form of punishment.

I really don't that the action taken was neccessary. They were just having fun. they didn't show their bodies, what's the problem. i think the parent that bought it forward probably wanted to get her child on teh squard. I was a cheerleader in school and we played around alot. They were just having fun. I wonder how the parent even got access to the picture. Probably her daughter went to teh page and showed her. I know that is right, she all her skin showing and she just got sent back home that isn't fair. Why would they want to suspend them for a whole year that is crazy

Thank you!! This is a little over the top for a suspension just for posing with a cardboard cuttout on their personal myspace page. I could understand if they had nude photo's and it caused problems but that's definetly over the top.

in my opinion the school had no right to say anything to the students, that is the parents place.

The thought police at work again, maybe if the time was spent on the guns and gang problem, we could make a dent in what is really wrong with the schools

Let me get this right.. The kids that had sex on the trip get to go back to school, but the students that had something posted on their own personal myspace page are suspended for a year. The school is just mad because this is going to make them look bad. Because if they had been doing THEIR job to begin with the girls would not have taken the photos at school.

This is dumb. They were not nude nor really bad vulgar pictures. They shouldn't be suspended from the team.

They were suspended from the squad for one year, not school. This is an extra-curricular activity and the school believes they can do what they want.

HOWEVER - I do believe that this is a violation of freedom of speech and expression since this decision was based on their personal website, on their personal time. If no moral clause has been signed by a parent or guardian, then I think the parents should consult an attorney as I do not believe the school has the right to determine how a child can act outside of the school.

Allowing this, enables schools to simply say "Hey - your off the football team because you didn't brush your teeth last night".

I also question the parent that complained. Perhaps it was because her child wasn't on the squad. In either case, it's pathetic and the Principle should be replaced immediately.

School teachers are notorious for being the joke of college campuses everywhere.

They take dead bodies and probably make them teachers.

Can't get into a real program? Then go be a teacher is the joke.

I believe that the pictures were harmless fun and that the school is overreacting because it was a parent with nothing else better to do that turned them in. That entire situation is unnecessary.

If there was no nudity or disrespectful pictures I don't think I understand. I have seen over the years many school year book pictures with poses that were not exactly presentable. So I don't understand why you would punish a hard working child by taking away something that may help keep them out of the streets and out of trouble. We need to really think about what is really important.
