Figures. The students are animals but the teacher gets the suspension. No doubt this was set up to have some students keep the teacher distracted while the others worked on getting their you tube moment of infamy.

I am sending my kids to Catholic School or Private school. I don't care how much it costs. This stuff is crazy. Or maybe I should home school them. Where are the parents to teach this kids that this is just NOT something you do!

We all lok left and right for someone to blame. Teachers seem to always be open game, so let's automatically blame them, eh? Come on, folks, let'sget deep down to the truth, where the root cause and blame belongs: What kind of PARENTS raise kids that would engage in sex, in an active classroom, during class, in front of others so they could watch, and all at middle-school age? And what of the other students who stood by watching the show? What kind of PARENTS raised THEM? But, much more convenient and easy, to blame a thrid party rather than the offending parties themselves! And teachers are such a convenient scape-goat, aren't they? WE don't like their high salaries and good hours, and clean working conditions, and we especially hate that they have their summers off. So let's blame them because the students come to school with low or no morality, decency, conscience, or regard for what is right or wrong. It will only be once we start holding the PARENTS responsible for the actions of their underage children, that something constructive will begin to happen. We can hold parents responsible for parenting their children and raising good citizens.
Nah! Let's just blame the teachers! It's easier! They're convenient. And they get their summers off.

Teen are teens. It's not about what school they attend; it's about how they were raised. Sending a simpleton to Harvard doesn't make him Einstein.
If teens want to have sex, they are going to have sex. Just because it's sheltered from your virgin eyes doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Taking sex education to the limit. Whats Next? More poor performance by our public schools. I suppose it's because were not spending enough money on education. How come the teacher gets let go but the "students" receive no punishment?

When I heard this story this morning I just could not believe it!!!!!!!!!!

What is happening in this world? Where was the teacher? This is a sick world. Why isnt the punishment the same for the boy and the girl? They also should be arrested!!!!!!!!!!

This should not be taken lightly. The teacher should also be fired!!!!

FYI - the more you shelter a child, the more they act out. You need to be a *parent* and teach your children right from wrong and find a happy medium between completely sheltering them and letting them run wild, not just shuffle them off to private/Catholic school and think that's all there is to it.

It was a SUB! Subs do not care what goes on in the class! They are like babysitters that just want to get paid and do not care about the kids!

To Blame
1. The teacher - can't even call this one a baby sitter - so unaware of what was going on, a baby sitter would have done better
2. The parents - yes something is wrong with the moral base that the children have
3. The Kids! Unique idea - hold them accountable esp the lids that did the act.

My assumption is
1. Sub either was very busy polaying lion tamer or had a newspaper
2. bored students played "Truth or Dare"
3. Raging hormones, boredom and lack of supervision - a real bad mix that shuld never occur in schools - and NO AMOUNT OF MONEY will fix that. It's the teachers' attitudes that need adjusting here!

These kids knew that what they were doing was wrong. I wouldn't be a middle school teacher for any amount of money. Blame them and we won't be able to find good teachers who are willing to take the risk of being blamed for something. Blame the kids and punish them harshly so others will get the message. Kids need to suffer the consequences of their actions.

1. Regarding the comment about sending a kid to Catholic school - go right ahead. From my understanding, the drug abuse that goes on with Catholic School kids is much higher because of the money that gets filtered in.

2. Do I think the sub is to blame - in some aspects yes because as a former substitute, you should know that the kids are going to pull any kind of stunt - so you need to be alert. But "Rational" said it best. These kids need to be punished - I know if it were my kid - words wouldn't be able to describe the punishment due.
