Great resources for getting kids involved. Volunteering helps kids have empathy for those less fortunate and hopefully it will instill a life long habit of volunteering.

Don't forget www.VolunteerSpot.com They provide free volunteer scheduling software for informal volunteer leaders. Giving back is Great! Giving back with out the busy work of getting your posse signed up - even better!

I had found one opportunity that I really liked, although it is seasonal. Along the Cost in Florida and Mexico when baby sea turtles are hatched they are supposed to follow the moon light to the water. Yet, now with so many Casino's and hotels they get confused and go the wrong way. Kids can camp on the beach with their parents and look for turtles that have gone the wrong way and set them on the right path. If they don't get to the water soon enough they will die from the heat or get eaten by birds who are waiting to capture some of them. Sea turtles are also endangered so it would be doing a great service.

I had heard there were other opportunities relating to clams near Delaware but I don't remember the details. Good luck!

Even though people want kids to volunteer, it seems that all programs and organizations have a minimum age. It really stinks!

I do agree it really sucks but I can understand why. I volunteer when I was younger at shelter just cleaning and someone was one month younger than me was total idiot. Ruin everything now you have to be a certain age to sweep a bloddy floor. I don't blame the programs not inviting kids their insurance hazard.

Meals-On-Wheels is always a great one and there should be a chapter in Atlanta somewhere.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Sagittarius

You're feeling ultra optimistic today, which is great for summoning up the necessary energy to do what has to be done. But don't let it go to your head and convince you that you're capable of performing miracles. If you aren't behaving in this way you'll have to cope with someone who has a swollen head and thinks they're the cat's whiskers.
