In science, every theory is open to debate. Why not teach school children this simple fact?
Religion is about faith, science is about critical thinking.
Like I said, evolution is a fact. The DETAILS of evolution are debated, but evolution itself is not, because that would be like debating whether the earth is flat or whether the sun is hot.You want school kids to be taught that evolution itself is in question, when it isn't.School kids don't debate evolution for the same reason they don't debate gravity,or the way the digestive system works.

I want school kids to be taught that all theories are in question; faith is for religion and science requires critical thought.

School kids should learn evolution, anatomy and gravity are subject to new observations and interpretations. When we stop debating, science stops too.

And kids SHOULD be taught that simple fact.

As I've told you many many many times over.

<quoted text>Do you object to the claim, human eugenics is a technology from a misinterpretation of evolution? What's wrong with comparing eugenics to climate change mitigation, as hoaxes from bad science?
Because eugenics is not bad science. Eugenics works, as we already know from breeding dogs and plants etc. The issue with eugenics is one of ethics. Climate change on the other hand is still open to debate, and also irrelevant to these threads as it has an ENTIRE FORUM DEVOTED SOLELY TO IT on Topix, so there is no need for it to intrude on the biology threads.

And science class by definition should teach critical thinking and the scientific method.

That's why science hasn't stopped yet. But it will if fundies are allowed to inject their apologetics into public schools.

And no, science is NOT open to "interpretations", unless those interpretations WORK and provide practical results. For instance, creationists like to claim their "interpretation" of the evidence is every bit as valid as the scientific interpretation, despite the fact that their interpretations are utterly useless.

They do not understand this because they have been taught by their parents and pastors to ignore critical thinking.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
