Suspecting that antipsychotic drugs might spike AMPK in the brain to overact, the Johns Hopkins team injected mice with clozapine , which, with olanzapine and risperidone , is commonly prescribed for ...

This is great news. It means Eli Lilly & co. can stop saying, "these claims have no merit". This article says it is proven that these medications cause increased appetite. My claim is one of the 1200 still out there and I feel that this news will have an impact on the remainder of claims. I sure hope it does. Very sorry to read about all the trouble the two settlements are having and hope that us remainders don't wind up in the same state-of-affairs. I think its absolutely wrong, what is happening to the claimants and and to their settlements.

Eli Lilly drug company is being sued by AG's in 7 states for fraud over marketing of their Zyprexa drug.

The zyprexa saga just keeps getting deeper.
It was Lilly that is alleged to have indulged in the excesses of it's 'viva zyprexa' extravaganza.

We keep hearing about how Lilly has "settled 28,500" cases.
Are theses cases that are still pending or already resolved? I am a litigant who would not be posting here if my case was 'settled'.

My son has been taking clorazipil for 10 months and was doing okay - suddenly has become like an angry hostile person who hardly talks to us - is that any way I can get an indication that he is not taking it. I give it to him and it looks like he takes it. I am at my wits end as to what to do.

Hello Pamela. I'm guessing you're referring to the drug clozaril. I have had horrible experiences with side-effects from taking this drug in the past, including difficulty breathing, nausea. This drug is used for patients who don't respond to any other antipsychotic. Perhaps he doesn't like the side-effects. Invega is the best medicine I have ever been treated with, hardly any side-effects except tardive dyskinesia.

Clozaril is the most deadly FDA approved drug other than those sold and abused by drug addicts like morphine and sleeping pills. Check out the FDA website's adverse events (death)info. As far as I know, its not approved for use in children. Weekly WBC count monitoring is required during the first year to prevent death. People still die at an alarming rate even with monitoring.

That IS great news. I was not aware that Lily was not ponying up to the weight gain side effect. I can point you in one direction for that -> the FDA - The most corrupt organization in this nations history. If lily has enough mony to stuff the big-wig's pockets at the FDA they can get away with just about anything - like denying weight gain. Makes me sick.

That is great news. I was on clozaril for about two years - it was horrible. Loads of weight gain (about 70 pounds), early stages of diabetes, and a general lobotomized feeling.

I hope they can develop a good drug that won't have that side-effect. Hopefully soon!
