Constipation and No Weight Loss

I feel I have reduced my intake of food considerably since I started taking Xenical about 8 weeks ago. I have no lost a single pound on the drug :(

Another problem which maybe contributing to my lack of loss is Constipation. I am very badly constipated from Xenical. I am certainly not passing out anywhere near what goes in!!!! Anyone have any cures for this without affecting the effect of Xenical?

Hi Neeil, have u gone to your GP about this?
I have been on xenical nearly 6 weeks and have lost 13lb.
I have another 1st8lb to lose.

I would def go to your GP.
At first my side effects was very loose stools and quite oily discharge, which went after the 1st week. I havent been constipated throughout the whole time i have been taking them. If anything i "go" more.

Refering to your other post, i take my xenical 15-20 minutes before i have something to eat.

I have had a similar problem although I have always had problems with constipation. I started taking metamucil each night - One heaping teaspoonful with a small glass of water. I am starting to see better results now! I have lost a couple of pounds. Good luck!

I took my first dose of xenical last night 120mg and noticed I felt a rushed heart beat, am not sure if this was anxiety as I was nervous about getting the side effects. However I woke up this morning with a headache, dry mouth and throbbing head like I had been out on the wine all night.. I am also constipated... the complete opposite!

i have been on xenical for 5 weeks and have lost 10lb so far by eating a very low fat diet,i am experiencing constipation at the moment, i am hoping to get down to my goal of 9st, i am currently 11st 11lb and 5ft 5

ive just started taking xenical yesterday.. and was dreading wat was gonna happen.. but so far so good ive experienced no side effects at all.. im guessing thats because im on a very low fat diet... can anyone give me any feed back on their experiences ??

I was wondering, some people say to eat fat to get these pills to work, at the beginning i was eating as normal and the side effects were bad, but now i am eating good, with the odd thing with a little higher fat then i would like and I am having no bad side effects, i just notice my poop is orange but no orange drops. Is this true ????

I've been on Xenical for 18 months and doing fine. Do not even think of increasing the ammount of fat in order to make the pills work!!! Where on earth did you ear such a silly thing. What you need to increase is your physical activity level. Remember: you are not going to be on the pills forever.
On the other hand if you were to be on a 0 fat diet you would loose weight no matter what.

I was extremely constipated, so bad that I've had to go to the hospital for treatment of this .. NOT FUN AT ALL!!!
I was introduced to Xenical and began taking it. I take it twice a day whenever I remember around my meal times. I have been on it for about 2 and a half weeks. I stayed constipated in the 1st week, then began oily stools, now on my way to three weeks I'm having fairly normal movements and I go everyday, if not twice a day. Its sooooo wonderful .. lol .. I know it sounds gross but those of you that can really relate to constipation .. know the agony I was experiencing.
My advice to you NEEIL would be if you drink alot of coffee or tea .. for each cup you drink .. drink the same amount of water!! I was seeing now change on the scale until I over did it with the water drinking and now not only am I NOT constipated but I have also lost 10 pounds .. yaya .. whooo hoo ..

hello i have been taking xenical and am also on phentremine and i am very constipated iam drinking nothing but water iam working out everday at the gym i have lost 9 pds in one week but iam very constipation i was wonder maybe the xenical is not working i only been taking it for about 4 day can any by help me

I have been on xenical for three days and have lost 2 lbs, but I am also constipated and have cramps feel like I want to go but can't hope this changes over time. I already drink 2 litres of water a day. hopefully it will balance out over time.

I have ben on xenical for 3 days, i am eating normally. Instead of oily stool, am constipated. Will this change over time. Does this mean its not working

i have been on xenical since thursday and i have been constipated, so i have been taking laxatives at nite to help me go not sure if this is normal help

I tried Alli for one week. Very constipated on this medication, to the point of having to take laxatives any time I wanted to "go." Didn't loose any weight and took religiously and per directions. Guess it's just not for me.

I have been taking Xenical for 1 week now, since day 3 have been constipated. Not painful, just not able to `go` - However I have lost 2lbs this week so I guess it's doing something.... I am going to up my water intake to see how that helps. I normally struggle to drink and stick to diet coke, but will swap that for water this week. I'll let you know how I go.... I have another 5 stone to loose after loosing 1 stone on my own before starting the pills.

Like u i have the head ache and dry throat...very like hangover...weird eh?

I have been on xenical for 8 wks and lost 24 kilos so over 3 stone .. I feel fabulous and I am stepping up my activity this week .I have been a bit constipated this week but wondered if I am just not eating enough so will check with doc and keep you posted ..
