FDA panel: Limit painkillers

Why don't they do something constructive, and check on chinese imported fish etc. Too much of anything is dangerous. If that's the best they can do maybe the FDA should be eliminated.

I personally have been using this type of aspirin/pain killers for headaches, etc for years and years and years and I'm still around to add a dumb comment here! Moderation is the key. I'd bet too much of anything could be bad for me. Common sense, no? Another waste of money study to scare the consumer. How 'bout curing Cancer?

Probably because this is an advisory panel of doctors and pharmacists who don't have any expertise in fish?

They should seriously consider leagalizing marijuana, it doesn't damage your liver and has many medical benefits.

People are taking to much of the drug i.e. Overdosing. They should probably just take what it says to on the bottle. Reading the instructions could also save some lives.

This is absolutely ridicules. The FDA is way out of control. Tylenol has been around for a looooong time. If taken responsibly it poses almost no health threat. I loved this statement:

"Centers for Disease Control and Prevention population-based report, that estimated acetaminophen was the likely cause of most of the estimated 1,600 acute liver failures each year."

Likely the cause??? Either it is or it isn't I would not pull anything from the shelves unless you are 100% sure. I think someone needs to put a leash on the FDA. If a few hundred people each year can't take the right dosage and harm themselves its unfortunate but not my problem. They are punishing the many for what the few do.

Great. Now we're regulating Tylenol because sheeple can't read the directions on the bottle to prevent an overdose.

Tylenol has been out long before any other pain medication. The issues in most cases is the individual who is taking the pill....the old adage if one is good two are better and so on....The FDA is a joke. Doctors who write meds to just take the pain away are a joke. Find the problem and fix it...but society just wants a pill to take everything away...how about holding the patient accountable for themselves...one other thing...too many pills out there and lack of communication between physicians is a dangerous thing....so much for the computer age and doctors doing a novel thing-talking to other doctors about patient care and learnign to say NO!

That's a direct quote from that meeting. They also said, "We are very concerned there will be an effort to include" the illegal immigrants in this argument, so "we must make sure that we focus this" to the American people that it's looking like we want "health care for everyone".

And they also said that 75% of the children who will be picked up in this will be non-citizens and that 44% of the uninsured are non-citizens and they can't possibly allow the American people to know this." [Ed: Oops!]

Menendez' office said that he's going to make sure that "a family of four that makes $66,000 a year or less will pay nothing at all for the new health care. And he was the one who said he was going to get rid of specifics like "citizenship status" and focus on, quote, "equity for all workers".

And he said he's going to make sure that the Latino immigrants are the focus of the health care reform.

And La Raza said if they get this, they don't even care about amnesty, because they've fixed it so that one family member can apply for all extended family members. And... Mark, if you think we have a problem with illegal immigration now, wait 'til you see the borders when this thing gets passed.

Yes they say that these pills should be banned but it will never happen to many millions of dollars at stake.Same goes with the cigarettes why are'nt they banned?Never happen to much money at stake and now with the goverment control they will even be more addictive and higher priced.And You think the pills are bad you should see what the food in this country does to you with the 15000 different chemicals we have today.(Come on Jersey people time to exspose this!)

The real reason the FDA is taking acetomiaphin off the market is because they realize that cannabis is slowly being accepted as the miracle drug with no side effects. They (Big Pharma) have been called out repeatedly on the fact that every drug they make has a serious side effect.

It's called bleach for the gene pool. Can't follow or don't want to follow directions...your problem not mine!
