I'm trying to find the generic version of Prevascid by Sandoz and every pharmacist tell me it's no longer available. They say Sandoz, owned by Novartis, won't tell them why. Anyone know about this and why Sandoz would no come clean? Anyone concerend when generic companies do this?

Thanks,
Concerned parent

I've got the same problem down here in Texas...I'm calling my babies ENT Monday to try to find the best alternative as my crappy insurance won't cover the name brand (Prevacid)! I finally found a pharmacy that had a 30 day supply of Lanzoprosole ODT but I have to pay $169.00!:(

Same thing in Idaho. They say "delays in production" of the generic. We paid $$$ for Brand for our baby girl to continue to get it. What's the deal with the generics?!!?

I can recommend a reputable pharmacy (Lansoprazole)- securetabstock.com/order-prevacid-online-en.h... I received the order and it was on time and the pills work great.
P.S. 5% discount coupon code: 9sh73h

This is why they no longer produce the less expensive generic...

http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/ucm251485...

For people w/ feeding tubes and situations where it is administered through an oral syringe, it was clumping and caused some problems, so they stopped manufacturing it at this time.

At first I thought the recall of the drug produced by TEVA brand caused the shortage of the drug from Sandonz. While reading the package I noticed the Sandonz drug is made in Japan. The FDA has cracked down on imports of FDA regulated goods (drugs) from Japan to ensure radiation tainted product does not make it into the states. I can't confirm if the Sandoz factory is in an affected area, but it could explain why there has been no explanation from the manufacture about why the drug is not available.

We had the same problem, my Mom couldn't take any Prevacid substitute. We found the generic made by Sandoz at a K-mart pharmacy. They were the only ones that carried it.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aries

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
