Which is stronger and better for pain,Roxicodone 30mg or Morphine sulfate 30mg?

Or what is the diference between Roxicodone 30mg and Morphine sulfate 30 mg??
There are also Morphine 60mg pills, and are those stronger then roxicodone 30mg?
I have heard that Morphine Sulfate pills make you more tired, ans you feel more you want to sleep, ist that true?
And also what about Methadone, can u take methadone for 4, 5 days, stop it , then continue with Roxicodone,and again after a 15 days go back to Merhadone for 4, 5 days, the reason i m asking is if my friend is out of roxicodone (couse his pm doc has a limit od prescibing roxicodone and they are not enough for a whole month), the problem is my friend just dont want to take methadone on daily basis, couse he is afraid to get hooked on methadone couse of long term withdraws

the liver only metabolizes morphine at about 20% when taken orally. IV at the hospital is a whole nother story.

so my answer is oxycodone taken orally works WAY better than morphine sulphate.

I agree with this post as started out on the morphine sulphate, and within a 6 mths period I became immune to them completely, they then switched me to the 30mg oxy's and have been on them for three years with very slight dosage increase,. So for me the oxy's IR worked the best.

You can switch back.Let 4 to 5 days be the max on the methadone before you switch back. You may be able to take less of the methadone and achieve good pain relief.

why does it bother you that i am educated about the medications that i would put into my body? to be quite frank i have been on both medications and the info came from my doctor, not google. but i would be happy to google it and see if i get the same info about the oral bioavailibilty of morphine sulphate. which i am quite certain i would.

or i could just check the PDR and see what it has to say.

when i was out of my pills last week i took 30 mgs of morphine as soon as my hubby got home with it, i slept for 6 hours,with oxys i would have been pain free and full of energy,maybe its just me but i think morphine sucks.

Morphine, depending on cross tolerance ratios is usually between 1.5-1 to 2-1 with oxy. So Morphne 60mg=30mg Oxy. There is no "Oxy type buzz" always made me more lethargic. That's why I always liked Oxy more. Gave me loads of energy.

Same here. I always think of that Eminem song where he was like Vicodin...vroom vroom vroom hehe. It's weird isn't it, you take a really strong opiate and somehow you can accomplish more things at once than you do without it hehe.
