Hi,everybody, i need some help and infos on my friends problem (if you can call that a problem)
The thing is, he is seeing his PM Doctor and he gives him maximimum roxicodone that he prescribes wich is 240.
Now, my friends pain is getting worse couse he was taking that dose for longer time, so his pm doc, gave him methadone, 3 times a day with Roxicodone.
And my friend is kind of afraid taking those 2, together, what he wantsto know (couse he does not have a computer) is, can he take those 240 Roxicodone, for like 20 days, and the next 8 days Methadone?? and when he gets his refill again, he would take his Roxicodones again for 20 days and next 8 days methadone,, so is that dangeuros to do or???
Any info would be apritiated, Thanx

And i forgot one more thing
His PM Doc, wanted him to take those 30mg Morphine sulfate tablets, 2 times a day, but they where expencieve for him, and that is why hi got methadone.
Later he find out from pharmacy that Morphine sulfate 30mg are not expencive at al, so he was thinking, what is safer,, taking those 2x day Morphine sulfate 30mg with 8x day Roxicodone 30mg or Methadone 3x day 10mg and Roxi 8x day 30mg??
Also he would like to know wich is stronger,, Roxicodone 30 mg or Morphine 30mg??

roxi is much stronger than MS taken orally.

the methadone will keep him out of WD completly for the 8 days he is taking it. if he starts taking the methadone and the 30's together i hope he is not prescribed a benzo. many people have OD'd with this combo due to methadone's incredibly long half life.

there was a lady at the pharmacy in front of me a few months ago that was filling meth and oxy, the pharmacist was rather loud so i heard everything he was saying. not sure it is a combo i would be comfortable with though. the WD of methadone is a MF... i would rather shoot myself in the face with a bazooka. thankfully i have never had to deal with it but knew someone who did and it was not pretty.

i would tell him to taper down on the oxycodone for a few weeks and deal with some pain... google the thomas recipe. nothing helps better than a bit of a break. his regular script of oxy will work much better again.

i get prescribed less than he does with the 30's. whenever i feel they are not working as they should and i am hurting again, i taper down as low as i can over a week or 2 period and try to stay there for another week or 2.

then upon resuming my regular regimen, the medication works wonders again.

i would tell him to reduce to 4-5 a day over a few weeks. stay at 4 a day for another 2 weeks and then upon resuming 6- 8 a day will work again as intended. heck, he may end up reducing his tolerance to the point he has extra's at the end of the month for those days that are really bad. in my mind nothing works better than a break... continuing to up the dose or add more/other medications is not always the answer.

he will have the methadone in case he runs short one month or ends up wanting to do a complete taper.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
