To all JUNKIES "only"-real pain patients please pass.

to all of the "junkies" on this site.. the rest,(real pain patients) this is not met for you!

I personally served and worked for the Red Cross in 1967 in Cu Chi, VN...most of you crying junkies who are most likely between 18-30, due to being such uneducated drug addicts probably have never heard or know what a "Donut Dollie"...My entire family is in the medical field, Doctors, PT, Nurses, Physics Researchers at top Pharms. in NJ, National Institute of Health in DC and professor of Anatomy at a very prestigious college in this country. Not to mention several of my grandchildren are overseas Red Cross workers. You addicts become some of our humorous discussions at many of out sunday dinners. Sorry to put it that way but your easily read by professionals (as you already know) since most of you have to deal on the streets. My post were to help, not to offend, however, at this point 'Frankly I dont give a damn" about your sad state of minds, that is what you have left.

Those of you "KNOW" who you are. lets face it, most of you do not need these meds and you know it!!! why don't you leave them for those who do. ever sat in a tent during monsoon season with soliders blown apart who is "comfortable" with 1/10 of what you take. Ever been in an operating room keeping a patient comfortable with 1/10th of what you take. Have you ever been to a board meeting at a fortune 500 pharm. company boasting about their profits due to your abuse. So, take a look in the mirror the next time you go to the doctor and really ask yourself if you need this much "dope".

I feel very bad for all your addicted sad souls. And to those with true pain issues I say "God Bless'. To those veterans who have come back here with real issues who had to buy drugs off the streets due to these abuser depleting your medications, i say write to your congress and ask that this be stopped!

Now, lets see how many of you junkies come back to bash this response, it will those who abuse this system, it will be your fragile sick little ego getting the best of you... TO those who are real pain sufferers you will know and understand this post... and most likely you wont find yourself waisting your time bashing someone who confirms the problems in the medical industry...you were the ones who suffered during the shortage due to these abusers.

Nicely said, I see you on here helping out people all the time Piercit and you do a nice job of it. Some people think just because there a nurse or doctor that they are better or have all the answers, just because we have abused drugs or used drugs for a long time that we are less than. I have seen people on here that blow away doctors or nurses responses, never underestimate any of us.

Hey now... you can't classify all doctors as having that mindset. I would never claim to be "better" than someone else. Not to mention, I am a recovering heroin addict as well so I have been on both sides. But you are right about most M.D.'s... I cannot stand those kind of docs and to be honest, the smarter a Dr tends to think he is only reflects stupidity.(And I have to work with them all day!)

Well said Doc, particularly last sentence. the smarter you ACTUALLY are is reflected in the ability to be gracious and understanding, and compassionate as well. Same goes for rich people. The ones with true class, are not snooty and arrogant. they are regular folk in mannerisms ans "above"arrogance,omn nipotence, etc." JMO

Not all doctors, I agree. I have several friends that are doctors and rest assured, they are "real" people. I have some of the best times hanging out with them. But, I also worked in health care for 20 years and I know just the doctors you are talking about. Total dickheads!

I have seen some of your previous posts and would like to say it is great to see some refreshingly accurate medical posts rather than those of the opinionated variety. It will be nice to get some facts and a professional medical perspectve about the various things we post about. I would also like to comment on the fact that so many people think they know what a Junkie looks like, the the real truth of the matter is they look very much like you or I because they generally are. Good for you for kicken your H habit and becoming the productive person you have. The kicker is that you not only kicked it, you kicked it's as$ and became a doctor. How many can say they have done that? Anyway, just wanted to welcome you here and say that I look forward to posting with you in the future. There are a bunch of real characters here but for the most part the conversation is good and the issues are important.
