I was referring to someone else, Chris. My apologies. I realize it seems like I directed that statement towards you, but it wasn't meant to be.

Tramadol effects different pepole in different ways. Its not a narcotic pain reliever. It sends messages to your brain telling you to ignore the pain...in laymans terms. It is also very dangerous for certain pepole ie drug users. NEVER ever take more then 300mg in a 24 hour period. For me....it works just fine most days...but some days its like an 800mg Iby.

Tramadol is ultram. It is not a opiate. It depends on what kind of pain you have whether they are effective. They are effective for nerve pain, and for mine 200mg ER ONLY,(and several of them, chewed, NOT recommended).
They are also good for withdrawals from opiates such as hydrocodone.
Most people are waiting to feel "high" to get pain relief, so they automatically assume that they do not work, but they do work on some kinds of pain.
They will NOT give the high of opiates and therefore I can't imagine them having any street value, unless a opiate dependent person can't get anything and needs them to ease withdrawals.

I work in a warehouse and do heavy lifting... Until I was prescribed tramadol, my back was in pain ALL day. Now I have none. I don't take narcotic painkillers though...
First time I took em, I got em from a friend and took 3. Recreationally, they worked for me. I actually enjoyed it waaaaay better than taking 4 Hydrocodone. Just my opinion...

My husband's PCP gave him Tramadol to get of Roxi's.
He was warned to NOT do roxi's at the same time as the Tramadol, or the Tramadol would precipitate withdrawals.
And boy, did they.
They made him feel SO bad he flushed every last one of them and went through the w/d on his own...why should one feel WORSE taking a drug that doesn't work, you know?
Glad to see they work on some, but I looked up the interaction betwen roxi & tramadol, and Tramadol DOES precipitate withdrawals, and warned to NOT use them together!
And it IS non-narcotic...and it may cause seizures in persons addicted to alcohol or narcotics!

Im not a doctoro or pharmacist or anybody forom medical field,, but Tramadol and Roxicodone that i get prescribed from my PM doc, Tramadol helps me against wirtdraws when i m out of roxicodone lets say 4 days earlier, becouse my doc has a limit of Roxicodone, so when i take only Tramadol, 4 pieces ihave no wirtdraws whatsoever, couse tramadol is semi narcotic and works on same opiod receptors as morphine,, i mean thats just me,, nobody is the same, i like tramadol not just for pain but aganst wirtdraws.
And like i said i m not a professional or in medical field, nobody should try it before talking to a doctor,
Thanx

Yeah, everybody's different.
If anyone has any questions, EVER, about their interactions, either ask the doc or pharmacist, or go to drugs.com and enter them into the interaction checker.(I've found MANY of the "pros" don't know everything about interactions)
It's saved us many a headache!
And I'm happy to hear many people can take this med without incidence...it's good to hear a non-narcotic that works for once!

My husband gets no pain relife from tramadol, he was rx'd this medication for his herniated disc in neck and also bone spurrying in lower back around L5; he was recently Dx's with RPF (RetroPeritoneal Fibrosis). which has started to give him massive migraines;
I was rx'd it along time ago for a knee injury and it did nothing for me.
i have found that once an injury has ben treated by a naroctic pain med, it is very hard to get effective pain releif from a nsaid (non-steroidal antiinflammatorry)-----just my personal EXP though
Tramadol isnt a nsaid...rather a non-opiate synthetic

Tramadol certainly is an opiate but it is not considered a controlled substance. I got them for a slipped disc, the doctor told me to take as needed, so I took about 6 or 7 at a time. There was no pain relief and certainly no high. Don't waste your time.
lol certainly huh? Tramadol is a non-opiate synthetic that acts on opiate receptors in the brain. definately not an opiate of any sorts and since it is not a controlled substance I would love to see you attempt to distribute tramadol to a cop lol.

I've taken every opiate you can imagine and even though tramadol is considered a opiate it's not a controlled substance and did nothing even at 400mgs, the maximum daily allowance.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
