My husband gets no pain relife from tramadol, he was rx'd this medication for his herniated disc in neck and also bone spurrying in lower back around L5; he was recently Dx's with RPF (RetroPeritoneal Fibrosis). which has started to give him massive migraines; I was rx'd it along time ago for a knee injury and it did nothing for me. i have found that once an injury has ben treated by a naroctic pain med, it is very hard to get effective pain releif from a nsaid (non-steroidal antiinflammatorry)-----just my personal EXP though

Sorry Donkey, I missed this one, Tramadol is an opioid but it is way too weak to be compared to oxys or hydros. Although Old Dirty Bastard died from an od of cocaine and tramadol, I have never felt anything from it. I would advise against taking too much of it, it contains an anti-inflamatory something like acetaminophen.

Tramadol is a synthetic opiate. I don't think anyone would buy it off the street..I was prescribed it a long time ago and it was like taking Tylenol.

Tramadol certainly is an opiate but it is not considered a controlled substance. I got them for a slipped disc, the doctor told me to take as needed, so I took about 6 or 7 at a time. There was no pain relief and certainly no high. Don't waste your time.

Tramadol is the drug in Ultram and it worked very well as a pain reliever for me. It reminds me, in a way of hydrocodone. They both relieve pain, not real strong and cause severe constipation, Tramadol, however causes a shakey nervousness that makes it hard to sleep at night. Tramadol is not an anti-inflamatory drug.
The nervousness and constipation is why I stopped taking it. The first two or three days of use seems to be the most effective, after that it makes one speedy and very jittery. It also can cause "seizures" at not so high doses, so be careful with it!

Never take Tramadol for recreational use! or in very high doses! The stuff will kill you dead! It is a very dangerous drug in high doses...and in not so high doses if you are taking antidepressants.

Ultrams cost about .25 a piece on the street. If you have a V.A. hospital in your town go to the closest bus stop. Youl find they give them out in over 100 count quantaty so you will need to buy the vets full bottle. They put you to sleep without getting high so there is not much street value for them. Tramidol , ultram is now generic so they are very cheap with a perscription.
