Sorry Ms.Roximom, People have been going all over the world to see a good Dr. since the begining of time. In the last few decades that would include the Mayo Clinic,Cleveland Clinic The clinic for the Fountain of Youth..LOL They go to Mexico They go France People would go to hell and back if it would help. You are about to have a baby, AND I wish you the best. But, what if your child needed the very best in care and it could not be found in Florida. What if you were told not to bring that baby to New York because we have too many sick babies in Brooklyn.? The only place you could get treatment for your child was outside of Florida? what if? And they said take your little baby home to suffer and die.? How would you feel?
What if it was Roximan, or a Dear family member that needed a better quality of life?

U r right! If ppl really do need it that is one thing. And if they need to come here yes please come to get it. I would never wish pain on anyone. I'm talking about the ppl that don't need it. I have been to my PM & ppl r on their phones talking to the person saying its all good! And their was one from out of state I heard on their phone making plans for when they got back home. I would never wish pain! My father drives over the road came home to stay for 3 days & go to his Dr. And he just left for the hospital for his blood pressure & they r scared he's having a heart attack! If my father was somewhere else, yes I would want him to go. My dad wouldn't though I'm surprised he did go. My dad goes to every state in USA & he makes his Dr. appt. for here. God forbid hes out he has used a hospital. Roxi has gone to the Cleveland Clinic & had surgery on his heart after the hospital here fu&ked up on it & his family member down there got him in. By all means if someones needs it its a whole other story right? I would want no one turned away anywhere if they need it. I'm not a cold person & please don't think I am. I do know what u mean.

going to a specialist in another state for a problem is a whole nother story than entire families driving down to florida all to get the same prescription.
everyone has different pain. when a family of 4 can walk into a clinic and all get 240 ct and drive back home, then there is a problem. these people will be cut off. when people go see a specialist at the mayo clinic or cleveland clinic it is for a second opinion regarding a surgery or to have something complicated done. not for narcotics...
DEA has made it crystal clear that they want people staying local for pain control. all the people coming from out of state just for medications and refuse any procedures and PT, will be under investigation, as will the doctors that see them.

Ceiling,
This makes sense and is direct and correct. I have a friend in KY. she has told me that as many as 8 people a month (something like that, relatively short amount of time) die along the creek on the family land, just for the sensational pleasure of oxyrotten! Thank God in some ways I found this site. I have never even seen, nor will I ever take oxy prescribed, now that I know it really is just another form of herion. GOD! We all really need to wake up, this epidemic is affecting so many lifes. I can't even imagine the sadness that my friend experiences every time they hear of one. Family of ST's so they see. You did a good thing, just reminded me she might deserve some consideration and a nice phone call or some flowers or some...something. She has lived there almost all of her life. Who wants to see there family burial site (which is just how they live, they keep there's close) disseckryted (way wrong spelling) but I think you know what I mean.
Peace
Jeanette

I know you will think I am being a smart ass and I understand that but, Your Dr. has no problem writing that 240? Why do you have a problem with them recieving 240? Is that for another forum? Lets talk.

This bill is not just an intrusion on our privacy it is another example of the government quietly disregarding the Bill of Rights, and taking us farther and farther away from the freedom our country was founded on.

It is not the government's (state or federal)business what medication citizen's are prescribed.

Since watching Schindler's List last night, all I can think of is how that list of people prescribed narcotics, could be used to select people "not fit for work" or "too ill to work" and shipping them off to their death. I know that is extreme, but think about it. Just as the Jews were required to register during WWII, people with chronic pain are being registered without even knowing about it.

What else is this information going to be used for? People who require extra monitoring or be subject to increased scrutiny? Consider the scenario that you get pulled over for speeding and police run your driver's license only to see you are prescribed OxyContin and you are immediately required to take a sobriety test. The implications here are worse than you can possibly imagine.

I have tried to help stop this law from passing.

It is wrong on so many levels it is not even funny. People in this country give up their rights, way to easily, as a cure for individual problems.

A law to stop me from me. Just as the war on drugs is a farce. We will see no change however, untill the passing of this generation as they feel the know it all, and their way is best.

Msara, if you should come across the post; Senate passes Dr.Shopping laws, you will notice that many here are so uninformed that they were cheering this law. Incredible.

I agree with you 110% and have been in strong opposition of these laws. Most people have NO CLUE what is happening around them as we move closer and closer to a Socialist society. We have strayed so far from what the founding father's envisioned for this country it is astonishing and sickening. I just encourage everyone to please read the first ten constitutional amendments, I know you learned about it in fourth grade, but a refresher never hurt anyone.

When it comes to giving up individual rights, I will quote Benjamin Franklin, YES, BENJAMIN FRANKLIN: "Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

I will leave it at that. VOTE LIBERTARIAN!:)

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Capricorn

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
