I wonder if the "Archives of General Psychiatry" put out a special edition with smoking-related content for "Lung Cancer Month"? I think that publication is also the source for the study on pregnant smokers and drug-abusing offspring.

Here's a link to the actual study. The last paragraph is the most interesting regarding financial disclosure.

I haven't read through it all... but will... but that was definitely the first thing that popped out at me after the initial skim :)

My my my... look who's here. It's the anonymous Discusseded/Mazed who ran away from responding to questions on the IndyChannel (page 13) at:

and page 9 of another article there:

Mr/Ms anonymous Discusseded, you may remember you were being asked to back up your claim that, ""Moreover, there ARE studies that show that exposure to very low levels of SHS for very brief times causes cardiovascular symptoms similar to those caused by much higher levels over much higher times."

So show me the studies if you would. Thank you. And while you're at it, how about sharing a bit of what your "competing interests" are in this debate before running away again.

Michie old boy, I see you're still kicking your dead horse. Haven't you been able to unlode all the copies of your booklet yet? I hope that vanity type self print Co that ran them off for you got paid. PS/ winter is just around the corner. Perhaps you can use all your unsold copies to keep your wood stove lite.

Careful... wood burning stoves use combustion and emit the same dangerous by-products into the air as tobacco cigarettes ;)

Under certain condations wood smoke may be more dangerious to ones lungs than Second Hand or Side Stream Tobacco smoke. I highly recomend and use a catalytic converter on both my fireplaces and wood stove. In some areas they are now required by law, or local ordinance.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Virgo

Believe it or not, you'll enjoy doing some domestic shopping today. For a start, it will be an interesting challenge to negotiate your way through the hordes of shoppers without getting mown down by a runaway trolley, and you'll also enjoy seeing what's on offer. Keep an eye open for bargains and be prepared to be flexible about some of the items on your shopping list.
