Novato nurse charged in mother's megadose of morphine

A registered nurse in Novato was charged with elder abuse on allegations she injected her 80-year-old mother with a 20-day supply of morphine in a single night, authorities said.

Hospice should do enough research on a patient to see if they are terminal or not on their own without taking a family members word on the subject.

Shame on Hospice as well. They know better.

After using Hospice in Marin County for a dying relative I have nothing nice to say about the organization and they should have given my relative a doctor and a hospital when he asked for one. They turned a our family member's tragic death into more of a nightmare then it even had to be. I would never use Hospice again.

My dad died a horrid painful death. I think hospice
tries, but their is still a lot of suffering.
The experience has left me in a terrible state
of mind-still. My condolences goes out to
anyone experiencing death. Don't condemn this lady
too quick.

Fran- of course, but.The individual who called the police etc. deserves positive recognition most likely. That what she called foul about was similar to what occurs too often doesn't mean it should not be welcomed as a start at least to make the law matter again.

After a year of investigation I'm satisfied what she did deserves at least the prosecution she's facing.

I want to know more details of course. The 'techincal' violation of law not being ignored is fantastic!!!

Iif this goes to trial I would consider doing nothing but attending if possible despite never having done anything like that especially as i'm far away and not with savings to allow that easally or possibly at all.....
