My condolences to her family.

most businesses and management teams must concern themselves with money. it is a basic principle when operating any form of business. this company is no different. any corporation that helps people in need suffers unforseen tragedy. local hospitals have had their share but what an injustice to all of the valley if we had demanded that they close!

My sincere condolences to the family. As far as getting drugs at KP, Maurice is so wrong. All the children are checked for anything illegal upon admission and when returning back from home visits. If anything it could be shady counselors sneaking various illegal items in. My heart is truely breaking for the families involved and for the counselor.Kidspeace has MANY very good caring counselors working there who should be proud of helping the children that they do.

You are an uninformed imbasole with no knowledge of the actual events. If someone stole your cd player out of your car, would that be your negligence?? No! It would be theft! The couneselor, who happens to be human unlike yourself, did the right thing by keeping her legally prescribed medication in her vehicle. She didnt take it into the facility and leave it on the counter! The girls stole it from her and made a decision to take the medication. Kids Peace did nothing intentionally wrong. And I am quite sure that everyone involved, especially the families of the girls and the employees in Saylorsburg are gong through enough hell and pain wthout your uneducated comments. Please think about the feelings of others befor you blast anyone else. For God's sak, someone lost thier child!!!!

How much methadone does a person have to take to kill them or severely disable them?

Methadone can kill
|
KRZ346 wrote: How much methadone does a person have to take to kill them or severely disable them? The lethal amount differs from person to person with a number of variables. Some people have died on their first dose taken as prescribed. Others die from cardiac problems that can occur more typically at higher doses. The mortality rate is dramatically increasing, having gone up 390% in the last few years.

Kids Peace treats serious problems, and it's hard to get people to work there, so it's not surprising some disturbed teen took drugs and died.
Sad, but it's part of treating the mentally ill.

This might just be God's way of thinning the herd...the one that died, just might have been a stress on society all her life and the one that lived, just might have incurred a life changing experience and maybe will become a contributor to society through this tragic event.

How dare you speak for God you ignorant clod....? Thinning the herd? I suspect that if this was indeed God's plan and he vanquished stupid people, your family would have been extinct long before your generation. Look up simpleton in your family tree, genius. I'll bet it is used plenty you inbred moron.

I agree with you 100%,but I bet you Mr. Ramirez is seeing dollar signs floating before his eyes! Those two girls did it to themselves, they weren't little kids who stumbled on to someones stash ,they were using drugs before this incident and now Mr Ramirez wants to act as if his niece is Miss inocent.Don't blame KP,as a parent you failed at your job and when someone steps in to help you complain.

Close this farce now. It imports delinquents and employs criminals, while providing trash parents an easy way to dispose of their children.

You people all amaze me... if they shut KP down the Mcall would be doing stories on the troubled youths in the Lehigh Valley. Then you all would be commenting on that and why no one is doing anything about it.

What I find more disturbing, NOT that I blame KidsPeace, is that these girls were at KidsPeace's drug and alcohol program. They obviously had drug or alcohol issues or they wouldn't have been there. I am not sure having a staff member with methadone on their person was such a good idea however it was these girls' choices to steal those drugs and ingest them. Not negligence on KidsPeace's part at all.
