i am so happy for you brother.did this trip have anything to do with your timing of getting off the done.man it would have been a bitch to get methadone in china.dont eat the hot 'dogs'.be safe and congrats on your progress in life.you should be very proud.be safe and my prayers are with you.
Hello Vin (and Mike & the Devine Ms Ban M). Sorry I didn't get back to u....but this is 1st opportunity.

I have arrived back safely from 4 weeks in Asia.....what a trip. Lots of stories...what a place.

Yes Vini, my imminent travel was one of many motivators to successfully detox from Methadone. Looking back now....that was easily the hardest thing I have ever done. A lot of pain (for a major gain).

I see not too much is changed here. Man.....if only all that energy could be harnassed (on both sides) for good causes......now that would be exciting.

Anyway, I shall try and wade thru all the useless posts and see if anyone actually needs help with detoxing.

There is no place like home.

Thanks Vini

Somethings must stay in China...lol.

I did have a couple "on the level" shiatsu's (professional foot massage....chinese believe all cures can be massaged out from the feet...ahhhhhh).

My favorite part was the beautiful green mountains and the lakes. Friendly people. Also, the driving was insane.....but efficient. The food was so-so (either really good...or really bad). No dog meat that I know of.

I am happy for u too my friend. U keep up the good work. We all know...it ain't easy.....it is hard work.
Bye for now

Hello CC. Good to hear from you. Glad you made it back across the pond. I know it must be good to be home. You haven't missed much here. If anything, things have gotten worse. Well, you'll see.

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much. From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days

Hi Sweety....

I'll be around.

I am going to judge myself now with the lips and the spam...to save the person the trouble (it's the least I can do).

Thanks for the ongoing support.
I hope I'm responding to your comment right, because I've never done this before. I'm planning to come off methadone as well, and I'm debating the suboxome way or just cold turkey. My doctor said to just go cold turkey, and besides not being able to sleep, and only side affect is anxiety. But as I've read a lot of these forums, I'm not so sure. I heard there is no withdrawal from suboxome, although it is very expensive. I'm a single mom and I support my child on my own. I haven't used in 5 years, except that now I'm stuck on methadone. I truly feel that I'm in a different place than I was 5 years ago. Methadone did help me to build a new life, a family, and a career. But now I feel like I'm a slave to the clinic as well. Any feedback you have about kicking methadone on suboxome vs doing it cold turkey would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats on your decision to not be a slave anymore. Someone will be along shortly to answer your questions. There are 2 wonderful people here who have been where you are and have nothing but some very useful advice that I think can help you tremendously.
So, hang on dear, Vini and/or CC will be along shortly to help you.
Peace,
Pam

We can offer some suggestions to get off the Big M.....but I am not qualified to talk about suboxone.

I did the "slow taper" method and I can give some advice.

Vini did a cold turkey. He'll respond on that.

We shall not debate which is better....that is personal preference. U can take the information recieved here and then make an informed decsion.

But first....we need some info:

How long have you been on Methadone (M).
What is your current dose?
What was your highest dose?
Do u have the luxury of "time"....to do a taper?
If u have reduced your dose.....what was rate of reduction.

Let us know...and we'll do what we can.
