What is your POV (Point of View) on Methadone

Sorry CC, this poll looks pretty one sided. The anti's only have one opinion up there and the pro's including the neutral have 3 all supporting it, how about, it ruined my life, it hurt my spouse, it hurt my baby, caused health problems. Appreciate the thought though. We actually do have other opinions, but are only given one choice.

in the early 20th century heroin was introduced as a cure for morphine addiction.In the late 1960's methadone was introduced as a cure for heroin addiction.i work at a rehab facility...someone using 60mg of methadone for five years takes 30 days to medically withdraw from the drug...methadone is one of the most powerfull narcotics out there..think Naproxon instead...

It's been posted before. But, I'm here today, living a wonderful, happy, normal life because of Methadone.

I consider my experience, "meeting methadone" - a very spiritual one. The Day, I showed up at this clinic, I had no idea it was a medication assisted treatment. The yellow pages, didn't list it as a methadone clinic, it only mentioned
an "out-patient drug treatment."

I know, my higher power led me to this place. I've been FREE of ALL illicit drugs, ever since this first day, back in 1998!!

how does methadone kill??? if its taken correctly under a doctor;s supervision at a clinic and you take it correctly.

doc at my clinic said not to drink,not to take valium or sleep aids,and not to use oxy once i got to a stable dose.
if u follow those simple rules how the hell can u have problems!!! i know its doesnt work for everyone, if u have heart probs,they did electro cardigram before i could start. its not meant to take for the rest of your life. but if you do decide to who cares. stay on meth if it means you dont go back to heroin or oxy or whatever.

move to canada,and become a citizen. if you dont wanna work,go on welfare and meth and any prescrip meds will be paid for entirely. and stay home collect money like other canadians do.

i would hate to live in the usa.

They don't even do the cardigrams here, because before it was introduced into pain management, it was widely promoted that methadone did not cause any heart problems and any other dangers.

Michael, congratulations on being in a place where you have access to a decent clinic, because it is not always available. You should consider yourself lucky. And sounds like you are smart enough to use it in your best interests, so good luck with it.

in north america,everyone should have access to a free and non\judgemental clinic whose only desire is to help. what is wrong with the world today i have no clue. theres an ad above me right now that reads " gay chubby dating" is it just me??

No, sorry michael, but I don't have that ad up on here. But, I'm not surprised at any ad I see anymore. And that's a sad thing to say.
