My wife's bi/polar was treated with Lithium for 15 to 20 years then later to prolyxin. After the lithium she had dialysis for five years then a cadaver transplant. Since then she'd learned of a class-action-law-suit but has been unable to glean information from anyone. Is she in the wrong forum, or should she look elsewhere?

My husband was treated with lithium for many years as well and suffered several major health problems when he was taken off the Rx. I haven't been able to find any info either. If you have discovered a resource i would love to see it. vickylmb@yahoo.com thanks!

My husband was treated for Bipolar disorder for thirty years with Eskalith lithium. Two years ago the company stopped making it. We have not found any generic or synthethic medication that seems to work for him. I was not able to find a class action law suit until now.

I am wondering if I have a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer that makes lithium. The lithium has damaged my heart and has caused me to have a pacemaker put in.

Hi!

I wanted to add to those who have already posted concerning the perscription drug Lithium. Several weeks ago I noticed that I was starting to have trouble with my eyes. I had shadowy halos in my line of vision. Then the next symptom that something was wrong was my gait was off and noticed I was sort of just shuffling my feet. Then it went front from these two symptoms to my balance was unsteady, I couldn't get in the shower because I almost fell one night. My husband had to help me with alot of things. My mind wasn't working too good. I would set down to use the phone and I couldn't seem to dial the number even though I was looking right at the number, Also when I would set down at my computer my mind would go blank and I couldn't remember any of my passwords. I wasn't eating much, I was drinking enough water. My internal clock was all off because I kind of had my days and nights mixed up. I went to my doctor and found out that I had what is known as lithium toxicity. My lithium was lowered from 3 lithium a day to 2 a day. I am so thankful that this was caught in time, because it could have been whole lot worse. It took about a month for me to get back "on track" so to speak. I am very thankful for my husband who was so helpful and loving at a time when I was not doing so well. The lithium that I take I get it filled at the WalMart store where I shop. They have a prescription drug program where you can get certain medicines for $4.00 or so. It has helped us alot. I hope this information will help somebody.

A close friend of mine was taking Lithium prescribed by her doctor. She was being treated for bi-polar.
She recently suffered lithium toxicity and the side effects may be permanent. She suffered partial paralysis on her left side. She also developed tremors in her hands which they are treating with Inderal which is a beta blocker.
She lives in Massachusettes and we'd like to find an attorney for her. I'd like to know if it's better to go for a class action lawsuit or individual. And, if there is an appropriate Attorney near Worcester, Mass.
I myself brought action against a New York doctor who put defective implants in my feet which led to 8 surgeries and left me on pain killers for life. We settled for half million but my attorney only handles New York cases.
Thank you all and I wish you the best of luck.

My doctor put me on lithium 300mg once in the morning and two at bedtime. I took it faithfully. After the forth day my boyfriend noticed a difference and took them away from me. two days later I ended up in the E.R.I had lithium toxicity. I have tremors, I have to be assisted with walking. I hardly eat. I hacen't been able to work in over a week.I finally went to see my PCP and he said it could take up to ten days to get the toxicity out of my body. The level of toxicity is 1.9

I have taken lithium for 24 years. I recently had a kidney removed and found out my remaining kidney is functioning at 25% due to kidney toxicity. Is anyone aware of any class action suits regarding use of lithium? Please contact me at ptabita@verizon.net.

Our daughter recently had a kidney infedtion that became septic, backing up into her kidneys, bladder and even her blood. She was hospitalized for over a week. They said it was due to the Lithium that she has been taking for several years. Were you able to get any information about a class action lawsuit? If so would you please send me any information that may be helpful to us. Thank you so much!!
