I've been taking Lisinopril for three years with no side effects. Maybe a little sweating but not very frequently.

One of the major side effects of ACE-I's (i.e. Lisinopril) is a dry, hacking cough. This cogh often tends to develop over time though. In some patients, this side effect may be persistant and bothersome. It is recommended to let your doctor know about this side effect if it continues to be a problem. Some patients experience this side effect, but it does not bother them so much as to switch medications. If the dry, hacking cough is intolerable there are other medications(such as ARB's) that can be used to control hypertension(high blood pressure). As far as the lung pain, it may be due to soreness from coughing. Hope this helps......

I have been takin the drug for almost two years and I am tired, I sweat like a pig, I cough all night, I am sick on my stomach, and I am nervous all the time. I am stopping the drug today and wonder what the side effects are when you stop cold turkey.

I have been on this medication for 2 years now. Things were ok for awhile. I had the cough but could tolerate it. About 2 months ago I got to where my blood pressure would bottom out, no energy at all felt really bad. I even had pretty bad chest pains. I looked the drug up on the internet. If you want to find out about the side effects google this drug. I believe you will be amazed at how many people feel horrible on this drug. Good luck to each one of you!

Can someone help identify a generic Lisinopril?
I have round coral colored tablets, about 1/4" in diameter.
They have an "L" printed on them.
I think they're Lisinopril, but not sure.

Thanks

I've had been on Lisinopril since Nov 07. Late January 08 I came down with what I thought was a cold..sore throat, post nasal drip, headaches, cough and then my gag reflex's became very sensitive to where everytime I coughed from the "tickle" I would gag and throw up. I've been extremely fatigued, tired and have no interest to do anything. Had allergy test, nothing. My doctor sent me to a gastronologist, said it was probably due to my GERD....Went for and endoscopy....nothing...after reading all the forums on this drug, I called my doctor and told her to change it immediately. She chose to take me off BP meds all together and see how I do, knowing my BP sky rockets...210/108. So I got some vitamin supplements to help my BP naturally. And now I am just praying this cough and throwing up will stop soon before I go totally insane.

I wish you the best. I don't know if stopping your bp meds is the right thing. You need to monitor it really close. I know for myself I stopped it on my own, but only briefly and then started back. I asked my doctor to change mine to something else, but after along talk we came to the conclusion that it was prilosec that was making me feel so bad so, I stopped the prilosec and started protonix it is for acid reflux, and believe it or not I am fine. It took awhile, but it has worked. I hope things work out for you. I will be praying. snow

I have been on it for 2 months since I was diagnosed as having Myocarditis (infection of the heart), at least that is what they "think" happened because they cannot be 100% sure of anything. Anyway, ever since I have been on Lisinopril, my hands and feet tingle and sometimes feel numb. This even happens when I am sleeping and wake up several times a night to move around and get my blood flowing again. I get tingling in my feet after I complete my workout on the elyptical machine. My hands go numb while riding my bike. I am an active person and working out is not an option. But so far my doctor wants to keep me on it until Dec when I can go in for a stress test, which she feels I will pass with flying colors. But so far my Dr says my heart is perfect and have had a battery of tests to include a heart catheter, two echo cardiograms, a number of EKGs, and my blood pressure is perfect if not even a little low. It is driving me crazy.

If you go to drugs.com there is section called Pill Identifier. It has pictures and info on most drugs including generic.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Leo

If you look closely, you'll see a black cloud hovering over a loved one's head. They'll find the smallest excuse for losing their temper or throwing a tantrum, so tiptoe around them or try to jolly them out of their filthy mood. If the situation continues you may decide that it would be better to get the inevitable argument out of the way than to pussyfoot around them any longer.
