diovan side effects

Yes folks, you all are right about Diovan. This is a killer drug,and I can't understand why the Drs won't believe us. I had every symptom that all of you have mentioned, including, knowing that death was eminent if I kept taking this medicine. I spent days on end in bed so ill that I could not function.Threw up everything that I ate, coughed so hard that blood came up, lost 55 pounds, most of my hair,shook so bad and almost froze to death. No memory and could'nt put two words together, and on and on. Quit taking this killer drug about a week ago and am starting to be myself again. Praise The Lord...Bless you all and good luck.

I notice that when I start taking Diovan I lost my sex drive, hair loss, headache and memory loss.

I train 6 days a week and regularly run distance races up to marathon length (26.2 miles). After being on the drug for a month now, I am now experiencing very unusual fatigue (can only run 2 miles continuously without stopping). I won't put up with this crap. What to do?

Hi Missy. What you are describing would not be unusual as you were taking a med which included a diuretic to increase urine production. Be careful with this, as some are sensitive to fluid overload. I would recommend you speak to your doctor.
As to the side effects I was experiencing, they almost completely disappeared within 48 hours of taking Diovan. The anxiety is gone, my stomach feels great and I am sleeping much better. My hair seems to be falling out less, but I think it is too soon to tell for certain. It was like magic. I will give it a few weeks and then speak with my doctor about a different medication.

I had taken Diovan for more than one month. Now I have hoarse voice too. I stop this drug. but the sympton is still there. Is ths demage is permanent

I have been taking Diovan 81 mg. for over 2 years with no side effects.

I have been on Diovan 160mg/day for 1 week. Shortly after I started I got fever and chills along with muscles aches and skin discomfort. Thought I had the flu, but it is not going away. Maybe it's the Diovan.

Could any one tell me the symptons of going cold turkey after taking diovan 160 for 4 mos.
I'mm starting to lose my hair!!

I have been on Diovan for about 2 months. The symptoms you report fit mine exactly. I started on Diovan after having quit Lisinipril for the same reason. During the period of about four months when I wasn' taking any BP reducer I was fine. But of course my BP went up. My cardiologist says he is not familiar withs such a reaction but that isn't to say it isn't possible. Are there other reports of this happening?

I am experiencing extreme tiredness and fatigue on Diovan. Listless and don't feel like doing anything. Are others experiencing this?

I am 31 years of age and have been on Diovan for a little over a year. Just recently, I have started experiencing mild tremors in my arms. Has anyone else shared the same experience.

I was on 80mg and started about 2 yrs ago; it made me dizzy, faint like, extremely tired, irritable; lowered my bp; then I developed stomach upset, weight loss and about 6 months ago, began getting diarrhea; I stopped the pill about 2 weeks ago; tiredness and leghargic feelings are starting to fade; bowels are still loose, but not as bad; has anyone else expierenced loose bowel problems ...

Has the ringing in your ears stopped? I am taking diovan and my ears are ringing very badly. I just stopped taking it today and hope the ringing goes away.

hello , ive been taking diovan 160 and have come out in a rash all round my ankles like hives . has anyone else had this problem ?

i have had chills also and the dr. said that isn't a side affect. i've had some crazy flu like symptoms..

I just started taking this med Diovan 80mg a week ago after being on Inderal LA 60mg for 3 yrs which resulted in hair loss thereby the switch to Diovan was prescribed by my new Dr. Anyway, I am having heart palpitations and hand tremors so I think I will stop taking this med after I see my Dr. So what did you do to control your HBP?

I have been on diovan for 3 days now and I immediately started having side effects. First I felt like I was disassociating - hard to explain, almost like a low blood sugar feeling, almost fainted. Then I turned pink - all over. Stayed home yesterday feeling ill and could do nothing but lay around all day. This morning I took my dose (160 mg) and now, 4 hours later, I'm pink again, my arms hurt/sting, the muscles in my arms and hands are aching, I have a stabbing pain in my left temple and feel depressed.

I called my doctor about this and he said to take a plain asprin to offset the side effects. I just took it so we will see. I'll give this 2 weeks before I ask to have the medication changed. These side effects are affecting my life.

thank you for this forum, it has helped me to realize that I'm not going crazy - these are side effects of this drug. God help me if my hair starts to fall out!!!

This concerns me because my doctor told me that this drug didnt cause erectile disfunction, thats why he put me on it instead of the other BP medicines
