diovan side effects

I see a lot of people have experienced the anxious/anxiety that I am now having afer starting diovan hct about 2 weeks ago. Just talked to the doc today and mentioned it could be the diarectic portion of this drug. It did drop my BP nicely but I'm not to sure about this anxiety and nervous energy I have. I am curious to know if anyone with those side effects continued on diovan hct and if they went away. Had to take a lorazipam in order to get to sleep last night. Last thing I want is to have to take an additional medication to counteract side effects of this one.

I also have been taking 80mg and I feel terrible, tired, lethargic, depressed--I stopped three days ago and feel better alredy! I would rather have high bp than this!! I felt like I was dying!

I have been on diovan for over three years.
i HAVE gained weight all of a sudden.
I have body and joint pains,a very bitter taste in the mouth down into my stomach.
Severe upper back pain for over a month now.
Can anyone recommed a blood pressure medication the has less side effects?
I seems the side effects are even more than what you already have.
I am going to talk to my PCP.

I was 38 and went into CHF due to a history of asthma/mixed copd from severe allergic asthma (celiacs)we were wheat farmers; as a kid. Was sent to a Diagnostic inpatient hospital with 5 dr's seeing me daily for 4 days. Stabilized me on Diovan 40mg twice daily and increased gradually over a 5 year-period to sustainable 160mg once day. Though I have to monitor B/P and sometimes I am dropped back to 2 doses daily (if symptoms re appear) I am very happy with the medication. Have tried other brands-without any help long term. I do notice for 2 wks into the single dose was foggy headed the first half of the day. but it left soon enough. glad to be alive and responding so good most CHF symptoms aren't around

I was on Diovan 160 mg for three months when I began to have joint pains and stiffness - lower back, ankles, elbows. I literally had to demand that my M.D. take me off of it to test it out. I was off for 24 hours and the symptoms disappeared. I will never use it again.......also, my M.D. told me that "joint" pain is not one of the symptoms that is listed.....however, on the Walgreen's print-out it sure is! Thank G-d!

When an itch turns into such intensity that it is extreme pain - in either or both feet.
I confirmed over last several months it was the cause by starting and stopping it.
I am seeing my Dr and looking for new BP med!

I've been using Diovan 160 for about a year and a half, and have been concerned lately about ED, not a problem I have experienced before taking this drug as well as I remember looking back. Am 66 otherwise active, walkes everyday, working around the house, maintaining the yard. Have not talked with my Doctor yet as I am trying to narrow down the problem. Have a partner who has not complained, but I have mentioned my concern. I also started taking levothroxin 50mg in the last 6 months, and take simvastatin 160mg. All are working, but I am concerned. Would appreciate any imput, mentioned as a side effect in 1% of population reading the side effects. Am I really part of the 1%, wouldn't think so looking at my bank account.

I am taking Diovan for 2 years and I suddenly turned yellow and I am feeling extreme burning in my mouth.

My reason for checking this out was because I am "shakey" with a tendency to dizziness. It makes me very unstable and it seems like my heart is racing. I fear fibrillation. I hear my heart when I am resting and fear falling asleep. Your symptoms are most familiar. The hair-loss is a given; I also suspect memory-loss; and I have a cough that will not go away. I will stop taking the drug.

Yup! I am having the coldness, which is a complete reversal of my hot flashes and general warmbloodedness. I now have to sleep well covered with socks and a head tie. At times, I get an attack of coldness that threatens to seize up all my muscles. This thing is dangerous.

I have been on 40mg of Diovan 2 times per day. Yes my blood pressure is lower. The side effects are dizzyness, leg cramps (severe), eye pain, slowed breathing and dry throught. It may be to many side effects for me to continue, we will see.

taken diovan 80 mil only! left arm tingles! first reatments had a fuzzy tingle in head and back of neck! Noticed liver spots showing up on my skin!
Anxiety was tolerable but was very tired and lazy.
I cut my pills inhalf and noticed less side affects!I then went down to 1/3 pill ! and eventually off it. there has to be a better medication! I am thin, non smoker, eat well and work out! I am a week end drinker! PS i had the dry tikle cough! Since stopped the drug my hair has become full and thick! my sex drive has suffered! Hwll with it I just talked myself into quiting the drug Diovan!

Been on diovan 160 mg for at least 7 or more years. No swollen ankles ever or hair loss. Dizziness and being tired yes. Achy joints and feet yes. But not all the time. After I get moving no problem. Just don't like being tired. Hmmm weight gain check! Bp great!

Hi, I to have been on Diovan for a number of year est 4yrs maybe longer and for the past 4 yrs I have burning mouth. all that you mention I get also .It is horrible. I need to take meds to help sleep. It gets worse as the day goes on. I dont' know what to do. I had mention to my Dr if Diovan could cause this and he said no.

I've been on Diovan for three weeks;160 mg. For the first 2 days my bp went down to a normal range then shot up. It's high most days with occasional low readings for part of the day. A little dizziness from time to time,swollen hands, feet and ankles in the morning. I've had higher blood pressure readings than I have ever had on my old medication. One day had a sharp pain in left side of my head, felt axiety and confusion for the rest of the day along with the headache. I guess I should have reported to my doctor but was not functioning well enough to think of doing that! I don't like this medication.

I have been taking 320 mg Dipvan.I have swollen tongue and uvula.Does anybody has had anything like this?
