Mac, they took sample biopsy and said the results were UNKNOWN, I truly beleive this medicine is screwing up my Mom's health. Now her platets are low. She is off about a month and changed to another blood pressure med that is causing her itching, but not as severe.

I developed a rash within 2 days of going on 160 mg Diovan. I stopped taking it right away but so far the rash is still there. It began as a circle of red dots. It burned the 1st day or so. Then the redness spread in the circle and it became very itchy. Now the dots have turned into blisters. I'm convinced this is caused by the Diovan. I was on this drug about 1 year ago and had no problem but was on the lower dose, 80 mg. I have no idea why my doctor put me on an increased dose without discussing with me but I'm going back on Lisinopril which is not ideal but better than this annoying side effect.

Started taking diovan in July 2011 and developed rash on my neck and shoulders in Dec, Doc changed med to Bystolic and gave me Prednisone for rash, only been taking a couple of days so far so don't know how long it will take to get ride of. Also had burning pains in my chest that lasted from 15 to 30 seconds once or twice a day, anyone else have burning chest pain?

cad wrote: I read the entire side effects forum only to find a couple of people who had the rash. So I wanted to start a thread for those who have had the rash. My rash is severe on both lower legs and abdomen. Red itching and hot. The doctor gave me an antibiotic and a cream but nothing helps. Anybody else? My mother who is on this medication with the HT (Ithink thats whats its called) has developed a chronic rash that she says feels like her skin is itching under the skin(?) Pretty much all over her body, she scratches one place and its itching in another area - she is misreable - thinking of going off it soon- sooner the better I say.

Some people can build up to having reaction. After a year or being on hctz, I developed iting on lower legs. This was all too familiar because of another reaction years ago to sufa-based medication for another ailment. Spent several months on predisone to send ugly, itchy blisters, away that looked much like the peel of an avocado. Sun sensitivity and weakening of auto-immune system may contribute when you react like this. There's so much to consider when having bad reaction. Serum sickness is an old-fashioned term that should be looked at and considered. Too many doctors have forgotten about this "old" diagnosis. Biggest probelm is getting a med that lowers BP without htcz.

Been on Diovan for 5 days, and got rash in chin. Could be pollen, could be Diovan. Going to keep a close eye on this. I've been on Lisinopril (gave me cough), and Amlodiprine (gave me palpitations) - dr. put me on Diovan because it supposedly had the least side effects.

I can recommend a reputable pharmacy (Diovan)- http://www.drugs-store-online.com/catalog/Blo... I received the order and it was on time and the pills work great.
