I have been dealing with this on and off for years. Always get a yeast infection after taking penicillin. The ONLY thing that has ever cured me of Yeast is Oral NYSTATIN.

I have a yeast infection but have no money to buy a new treatment. I still have cream left and an applicator from 5 months ago, is it safe to reuse the applicator as long as it has been thoroughly cleaned?

I would recommend http://indgeneric.com . Excellent service, lowest price, product arrives within 2 weeks in plain envelope. They are the sole of discretion. Believe me, I have used them several times, not that I need them but wow. Remember to check your blood pressure first as it can affect your eyesight.

Mona wrote: I got a yeast infection in March after taking antibiotics. Bought the usual stuff, and it didn't work. Went on a course of Diflucan (one pill for three days), thought the infection was gone and it has recurred again. Since it was a weekend, went back to the drugstore and treated it with an over the counter medication, no luck. It's back again. Now I am back on Diflucan and today is my first day off, and it seems as if the infection is coming back. I am on Restasis (for chronic dry eye) and since this contains cyclosporine (in small amounts), I was wondering if that has something to do with it. I know this it long time since this post, but I was wondering if it cured with duflican. I am going thought the same experience. Took 3 day duflican and it didn't work. Dr has prescribed duflican again one every week...:)

in addition to the diflucan or other antifungals( especially after or during being on antibiotics), try taking Probiotics. its basicly different strains of the good bacteria your body needs. both types of bacteria are killed by antibiotics, but bad bacteria - the kind that causes the yeast infections grow more rapidly and feed on bad things you put in your body, like sugar. My locan wall greens carries them in the refrigerated section near the milk, called Florajen3. it has a combo of 3 potent bacteria - Lactobacillus acidophilus—over 7.5 billion Bifidobacterium lactis—over 6.0 billion Bifidobacterium longum—over 1.5 billion it also comes in a standard formula (with Lactobacillus acidophilus only) and one for kids ( Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07—over 3.5 billion Bifidobacterium lactis HN019—over 1 billion Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM—over 1 billion Lactobacillus rhamnosus HN0010 , but i find the 3 to be the most effective in controlling my infections. they do sell other probiotics over the counter - that arent refridgerated, as well as yogurt that has probiotics in them (think activia) but be carefull since not all yogurt has live cultures - usually only natural foods type ones do - and you definitly dont want to layer any type with sugar down there bad bacteria will just feed on the sugar. plain is a good relief for the itch though while you wait for the diflucan and probiotics to clear up your thrush. easiest way for us women is to take and dip a tampon in plain unsweetened yogurt with no added sugar and insert - smear a little on the outside as needed as well. Good luck and hope this helps.
