Fact: stress affects INR. See for a short discussion of stress and warfarin http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11918508

I am very happy to have found this website. I am 28 and have been on Warfain since Sept 2011. I am tired all of the time and cannot seem to get my blood levels stable. I jump from 3.9 one week to 1.3 the next. I have been on a stable dose of 10mg Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sat and 7.5mg every other night. I do not miss doses and stay away from greens and my personal favorite, wine! The only thing I can come up with is stress. I have a very demanding job and am currently in the middle of building a house! Does anyone know if they check for Factor V Leiden automatically after you have a blood clot-DVT? I am thinking of asking my Dr when I see him in June. Hopefully after my Angiogram in June I will have a clean bill of health and can get off of the poison! Frustrated and sick of getting poked every week and being tired!

Frustrated and sick of getting poked every week and being tired! Hi, Stress seriously affects my INR but I check my blood at home now so I can keep a close eye on it as I'm also dieting and keeping fit which all affect INR readings. As with checking for Factor V Leiden I think it depends on your health provider. I'm in the UK and they did check mine on a screening test for all sorts of things. I've had these tests carried out twice now as its my second P.E which means I'm on Warfarin for life now :-( Definitely ask your consultant as it stops you from wondering and puts your mind at rest. Its scary stuff at the best of times. I still fret all the time, especially when I get leg pain! Good luck with it all. Hopefully you'll post on here...

Hi! I have been on warfarin for 3 weeks now, after a pulmonary embolism. I did well up to 3 days ago, I am very nausious and have diahrea. I am buying a house for the first time, found out we have to move in about 3 days ago. I'm wondering if the stress could be causing the symptoms due to the warfarin. Nothing seems to make it better.. Help??
