Yes.. I had almost a constant headache the first few months of therapy... don't think it helped that my levels were all over the place. Now that my levels are around 2... headaches are less frequent... and instead of tylenol... I take aleve....
One more month to go and then I am DONE!

Maureen,
Aleeve is usually not recommended for coumading patients, please check with your doctor.

Hi Rich - I have been on Coumadin for 75 days now, I can't say I got dizzy, a little weak sometimes, and yes tired usually late afternoon.

The only pain reliever I was told I could take was Tylenol, regular or extra strength is fine, just not more than the regular daily dose listed on the bottle, and not every day. It can affect your INR.

Have you looked at your diet to see if you any areas you could change there to help you? I found it helped me, and drinking enough water also is important.

Go to myspace.com/shanahaasis - I have alot of information there that may help you!

Take care!

I had a severed arterie from a chiropractor that caused a minor stroke. I have been on coumadin since july. I get very dizzy at times when bending over then getting up i get a ringing in my ear and feel faint for a second or two then usually normal. although I have alot of headaches like the rest of you I can not wait to get off this.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. God bless.

Have you asked the doctor about the dizziness?

Also, drink lots of water and get some exercise during the day. Change your diet if you need to, all of these things has certainly helped me, and in general are good for you anyway.

I hope you feel better soon :)

I do get dizzy now and then but I can't really say that it is caused by coumadin. I have very low blood pressure and my doctor tells me that this is probably the cause for it. Dizziness can have many causes.....and also, if any of us have a doctor that we don't feel comfortable with, go ahead and get a second opinion. It could save your life, like it has mine...I am not saying don't trust your doctor - but somehow I do believe we all know deep inside when something's wrong....and then it's time to act. and there is never anything wrong with getting a second opinion...very healthy....

DDC27, if you get dizzy getting up from a chair - seems to me this might be caused by low blood pressure? what does your doctor say?

thanks!

Ashley, do you know what your blood pressure is? Do you have the means to check it? Are you having any visual problems? It could also be something as simple as the flu. I would have you check the first questions though. Get back to us.

Robert, Coumadin can cause itching - it is usually a rare condition but your doctor needs to know about it. If there is any discoloration on your skin, you need to let him know that also. This is very important so share it with your doctor. Your allergist is right in telling you it could be related to Coumadin BUT seek attention from your primary doctor - Allergist are not experienced here and you will most likely need to come off of the Coumadin. Call your doctor today. Keep in touch

Paul, what has your INR been running at? Some people do complain of being lightheaded but you do need to know your INR. Let us know.

My dad had to take it about 2 years ago for about 6 months because of a blood clot and then was taken off then about a year ago we found another blood clot which sucked and now he has a filter in heart or something like that and he is now on Coumadin for the remainder of his life and has to wear special socks. When he gets up or after working on the floor when he stands up he gets really dizzy and almost faints. What should we do i'm so worried.

Craig, you need to check his BP. Is he taking BP meds? Many BP meds and diuretics can cause these symptoms - it can happen that he is taking to much. Check his BP in the morning and then an hour after he takes his meds (if any). Also when changing his positions - he should do so slowly - that helps the body adjust to the change. Let me know, hope this helps.
