Cephalexin Side Effects

Does Cephalexin increase urination?

i have had to urinate about 15 times plus a day. i have been drinking more water because i think it has been dehydrating me

After 3 days I had to stop taking it. I was very naseous with severe stomach cramps. It's been 2 days and my stomach is still not back to feeling good. I would say avoid this drug.

This med is giving me severe headaches, not to mention the complete lack of energy... I am asking myself if I felt better before I was prescribed this medication...

Has anyone else been having crazy dreams since taking this? I've been taking it 2x a day for the past four days and every night having crazy vivid dreams. And last night I was SUPER tired very early. It sounds like fatigue w/ this med. is pretty common though...

I had to stop taking this. I am 5 days into it and feel worse than before. No energy, nausea, and can't seem to draw in a full breath of air. I started prednisone to help with the inflamation of my lungs.

Has anyone experienced heart palpitations or a fluttery feeling in their chest or neck while taking cephalexin?

I just starting taking it today and i already have.. nausea, headaches, stomach pain, dry mouth, dehydration (i guess those 2 co-inside) and itching... i hate this drug already... and im extremely tired

Most common side effect with cephalexin are gastrointestinal (diarrhea, upset stomach, nausea). From what I've read, cepalexin doesn't produce diuretic effects.

His breathing became difficult, he lost his appetite, his energy level went way down, and he became disoriented and would just stand and stare.

Keflex almost killed my wife's dad twenty years
ago. He became nauscious, had difficulty breathing, pace around the house all night, and
had heart palpatations. His former doctor recommended that he take dramamine. He stopped
taking the KEFLEX, and is still alive
today at age 89.

If you feel worse after taking cephalexin/keflex,
Stop taking it.....

I began giving my perfectely healthy Golden Retriever Cephalexin on 8/2/07. She dropped dead 8/16/07. I was still giveivg her the pills twice dailey 500mg. I still had two more days left after she died. I was told to give this to her because she had a small rash on her belly. I am devistated. I did not do an autopsy and should have. She was perfectely healthy 8 1/2 year old female dog.

It was time to take my beautiful spunky Golden Retriever Casey to get her annual checkup.I took her on 8/2/07. She needed her shots updated and I noticed some green puss under her eyes so I brought her into a new vet, since we had just moved to a new area and I was referred to him. He gave us some medicine for her eyes and he noticed a allergy rash on her belly(which she got off & on her entire life) so he told me to give her Cephalexin 500mg. twice dailey. I had never given her these pills before and was a little skeptical but I followed the Dr's orders. Casey loved to walk morning and evening. She seemed perfectely happy to go on her evening walk on 8/16/07 with my husband and I.On our second lap, As I turned to look for her I saw her laying on the cement starring at me. I said and I look back d come on Casey let's go But she was dying right in front of me. I am deviststed. I should have tsken her in for an autopsy. But didn't. The DR. said it was probably a heart atack. But I just can't stop thinking it was the pills I was giving her. As my husband and I look back on the previous two weeks of her life she seemed a little more tired lately & even breathing hareder then usual after our walks. But she was always ready to go for her morning and evening walks.

Has anyone experienced cramping in the legs and the arms since taking this medicine?

I have not been nautious but do feel my heartbeat and that is not normal for me. Also feel very very tired and having trouble breathing.

I have had all the symptoms listed above. Very tired, not hungry and irratable. Is anybody having night sweats or heard of Cephalexin causing them?

I'm really glad to see this post. I've been giving my Husky Cephelexin for about a week now. He has 2 more weeks to go and he won't eat ANYTHING. I'm taking him off this antibiotic immediately. Do no doctors know the side effects? Why don't they tell you, if you experience these symptoms, stop taking it. Also, I wouldn't take an antibiotic for a simple infection so why should my dog. It's called an immune system.

My Lab / Doberman mix was in for a checkup last week and the vet said he heard a noise in her lungs like she had an infection. Prescribed Cephalexin 500mg twice a day. It's been one week and she will not eat, vomits, and seems very weak. I'm taking her off it immediately.

i started hurting and burning and had some discharge and i looked up the med and it said vaginitis. os a side effect and im hurting now more then i was when i got the med!
What is vaginitis?
Vaginitis is a term for any infection or inflammation of the vagina.
