I have been off of Celexa for 3 days and have moved on to Wellbutrin. I too feel much better and it was overnight. I did taper myself off of the celexa as that was recommended so I would definitely do that. However, my gp said I could start the Wellbutrin while I was tapering off of the celexa. Feel great! I wish ya'll the best!

I've been taking Citalopram for 6 days and am stopping right now. What ever complaints I had before, they are 100 times worse now. No sleep, twitching and stomach cramps. Surely 6 days isn't enough of a build up to suffer from stopping now ... is it?

At the end of the day we are only imperfect humans and we have to accept to love ourselves as who we are with a few challenges in life to face. This time last we we faced floods in Dalby and all of a sudden I was sick as a dog one night thought I was dying with all these possible diseases which are displayed to us through all types of media and a few days later get diagnosed with Anxiety. I have had depression on an off in my life time too and I am only 33. When I look at my lifestyle, stress, and lack of enjoyable exercise and even moderate alcohol and caffiene consumption I realised I have to make changes. I believe the medication is suppose to give us the strength to kick start our energy levels until we start learning how to look after ourselves and start demanding answers. Lets face it were our bodies meant to deal with high levels of stress, chemical intake and failing relations. No of course not I think if we try to simplify our lives and look for education to help heal our mind and souls who else will do it for us. I know my biggest support is God he helps me through and doesnt judge me even on the days I feel like and emotional basket case. Now if you dont have God having a specail friend who loves you for who you are can be a good support and save lives and if you dont have that use the experts in the medical feild to help you adleast until you feel stronger to help yourself. After all no body wants to feel like this. Everyone wants to feel loved, excepted, listened to and enjoy life. Thank you to all for sharing your stories you have helped me to actually feel sain knowing Im not alone. I wish you all a wonderfull year and I hope you find help on your journeys.

hi there ive been on citalopram40mg for about 3years, am also on 50mg of methadone have been clean good few years now. My citalopram werent doing anything for me, so whenever i could i was taking 3x 100mg pregabalin which make me feel so good happy, confident able to do stuff and get out the house, but i shouldnt take them because im really overweight and the bad side effect is massive water retention and chest pains, anyhow a few days ago i decided to stop the citalopram, and cut my meth down by 5ml, ive gone about 5days without cital .. But my head feels really weird and when i stand up i feel like im gonna pass out. Dont want to go to doctors ,wana get thru it, so i can lose weight with my orlistat, anyone in same kinda sitch?

Surely 6 days isn't enough of a build up to suffer from stopping now ... is it? I have had similar after taking Citalopram for 6 years. Never again! Gone cold turkey. Vomiting, vertigo, shooting pains in head, nightmares, loss of short term memory, weakness in legs and shaking. But I'm sticking with it - and already I feel less apathetic about life, feeling emotions again, more in touch with family and friends and reality. These drugs numb everything including your sex drive and make us appear cold and remote. Everyone out there reading this - eat well, exercise, get out into the hills or beaches and walk, get the fresh aire in your lungs and make changes in your life so that the things that are making you anxious or depressed can be left behind. Life's too short. GOOD LUCK. The symptoms will lessen after a week or two and I don't think they are any worse than feelings of apathy and being remote from reality.x

I cut back from 20 mgs to 10 to 5mgs over a long period of time. When I went from 10 to five, I experienced some slight symptoms but then everything leveled off. Now I am completely off it and having some side effects but nothing too heavy.
