celexa & women's libido

curious about the libido effects on women, zolft broke my want it button, and it took years to fix, now they want me to take this, and I don't want the low libido side effects...
any females taking it and notice changes

Just started taking it 2 months ago. Everything good except my libido.
I almost rather deal with a panic attack then have 0 sex drive.

thats what I was afraid of, when i tok zolft, I wanted no sex it took years to get it back and I'm really not sure it will ever be the same,
I keep telling my doc I do not want back on anything like this, I don't want something to take daily etc..
she finally gave me lorazepam for the panic attacks, and today when I saw her she gave me the script for celexa, I keep telling her I didn't want to take any of them.. but I got the script filled and there sits the bottle..

let's see... um a few panic attacks and no sex drive?
or sex drive and a few panic attacks?

think I'll take the panic attacks

I have had no problems w/ my sex drive. This is my 1st time w/ Celexa but I did not notice an issue when I used Lexapro in the past.

Most definitely the libido is dead..... While taking Celexa you could care less if you ever have sex again.

Is there anything you can do about upping the sex drive? Besides stopping the drug?

Just started on celex today.... my doc said any of her patients on celex only display the loss of sex drive when they are on the 20mg. She put me on 10mg.

The first time I tool celexa I lost my sex drive bit this time around I have no problem.

i haven't lost my sex drive just my ability to have an orgasm.

I an on 40 mg of celexa, have been for about 3 months and i am not horny at all could care less

very sad..but i an happy and my life is together again

Ugh. My doc had me on Zoloft and I could not have an O !!!! And now he wants me to be on Celex starting at 20 then going to 40...
I am really nervous... Im getting married xmas eve.. I dont want to loose my drive... but... I cant stand the anxiety.. He said that Z was much stronger and that the problem shouldnt be that bad on this stuff but after reading all this Im not sure what to do..

I find with celaxa mine comes and goes, one day i want to jump my husband for all he is worth and the next day you couldn't pay me to have sex. Not sure why that is, but i guess im thankful it didn't rob me off my libito totally lol.

im about to start celexa and im so scared my libido is going to run away on me!

I am worried about the same things the rest of your girls are concerned about. I started Celexa 20mg yesterday for generalized anxiety. My doctor told me that Celexa was better than some of the other SSRI's as far as sexual side effects are concerned. However, she mentioned adding Wellbutrin if I did have these side effects. Has anyone tried this or know anything about it?

I have a friend who was on celexia and had a prn for when she was wanting to get off. It worked...efficiently. but it sucks to have to plan that kind of thing.

Celexa has not affected my sex drive just the person I am married to has. I yearn for the closeness of a relationship not just the physical aspect. I was on Paxil and I will admit I did not have any sexual desires. Intimacy never crossed my mind on Paxil but could be stimualted in the right moments.

Unforunately as long as you are on Celexa, you will have the problem. Very common.
