tried citalopram awhile backdidn't like the side affects at all, so i quit. But i need sumthin! Still had the bottle in my bathroom, drank while making dinner, took one. By 6 pm I had to go to bed I feel like I have the worst flu ever. shaking, throwing up, retching, dry heaving. Major anxiety attack. I would rather die than take another one of those pills!

Update...I finally had 3 drinks (bourbon) on Celexa and could not catch a buzz. I've been 2 months without drinking and the Celexa has greatly reduced my urge to drink. Maybe it's because I'm not depressed. It's a which came first situation...chicken or the egg.

I had the same feelings about this drug. I took my first pill @ 10pm and woke out of a dead sleep feeling like I was on ecstasy! I even went to the ER ;0 they informed me that I would have to just stick it out for 5 days and that it would most definitely help me! And that if I didn't need the drug I would have no reaction. That because my brain chemicals are off and have been for a long time that is the reason I felt so high. Give it 3 weeks to start to notice the great changes he said. The next day I felt better and started by cutting the 20mg pills in half for 4 days then bumped up to a whole. I did stick it out and have
been on them for a month and am bumping up to 40mg and am sooooo much happier now :) I didnt realize that I was a walking anxiety attack CONSTANTLY I would wake in the night because of it too. Couldn't even shower it was so exhausting!!! Couldn't enjoy anything anymore. But all has changed. After 3 days I felt like I had
energy and didnt have that constant feeling of doom. I'm trying a bigger dose cause I still sometimes wake with an attack. He told me these are great for anxiety and I agree! I also can't drink with them cause if the HORRIBLE hangover afterward but that's ok cause I used to self medicate with alcohol. And it is a depressant so if ur depressed probably not the best thing to do. Hope this helps anyone like it helped me to hear others success story. There IS light at the end of that tunnel cause I see it now after getting help :)

My advice is to not drink on celexa. I am on a 40mg/day remedy. Drinking more then 2 glasses of wine caused suicidal thoughts and a blackout. My motor skills were out of wack and had trouble catching my breath.
Anyone else have these symptoms?

I was put on citalopram (celexa) about a month ago. Since I've been on it I've noticed that every time I drink I get wayyyyyy more f*cked up than I did without the drug.
For example, the first time I drank while on it I blacked out after drinking about half of what I normally would, and the next day I couldnt stop puking...which is unusual because I had never had a hangover that bad.
Then, this past weekend I drank not very much, blacked out..ran through mud puddles in my socks and even DROVE and I have no recollection of any of it, and when I woke up the next day I felt awful and my whole body was tingling.

Ive had the same problems with increased alcohol cravings which got me into all sorts of problems with binge drinking, loseing my job and even ending up in prison. I have found research papers that show that alcohol cravings can be induced by SSRIS, Ive told my story on Dr David Healys website davidhealy.org . To go straight to my story click here http://davidhealy.org/out-of-my-mind-driven-t... this story helps to explain why some people get the cravings/alcohol abuse whilst taking SSRIS.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Taurus

Be careful if you're supposed to be saving money, because it's likely to fly through your fingers in no time at all today. You're open to all sorts of delicious impulses now, such as splashing out your hard- earned cash on little treats or big purchases. Indulgence is the key here, and you'll also want to push the boat out if you're going to a restaurant for a meal. You'll work your way through the menu, regardless of the cost.
