I drink anywhere from six to ten cups of coffee a day on Celexa....not having any bad side effects except sometimes a bit jittery!!!! I also take a nap somedays after I get home from work - another way to deal with the effects of fatigue from Celexa. Then I stay up til midnight getting work done, go back to bed, get up at 5:00 am, and the cycle repeats......by splitting up my sleep.....I have more energy and get more stuff done.

PLEASE take Celexa at night. It puts me to sleep within 1/2 an hour. I cannot imagine taking it during the day!!! Please try at night. My doctor said this was key to the success of Celexa...

I've been on Celexa for 2 weeks now and I started off taking 10 mg for a week and increased to 20 mg last Friday. I was also prescribed Ambien to help me sleep at night - even though Celexa relaxes me, I still can't sleep on Celexa alone. But I've noticed in the last couple of days that I lack energy. I end up back in bed around 11 am (after getting up at 7 to take my son to school).

I didn't realize that fatigue would be one of the side effects.

Tam,

Me too. I learned that Celexa made me very tired for all day when I took Celexa in the mornings but I must change from the mornings to evenings (I am deaf). I don't like Celexa's side effects either. I take Celexa 30 mg in the evenings then next day I feel fine and not bad for all day.

I think it's not only fatigue.I try to lose weight,so I go to the gym a lot.One of the side efects is that my muscles are very weack and my equilibrium is really bad.I used to be really good in sports and have great equilibrium but after talking celexa I feel like I am 80 years old. I can go to the gym for an hour every day,but if I try to go up a few steps I am very weack. Plus I expirie4nced muscles cramps. Like 4 times during the night.
Maybe just Celea makes worse what you rbody is vulnerable to.
I couldn't sleep at the begining but after a month got better.

I've been on celexa, 10mg a day for the last week and I'm really tired. I felt a bit tired and had low energy before hand. Now I'm not even getting out to do the things I did before.

I'm going to start taking it at night and see how I react.

I wish Celexa at night worked - It knocks me out regardless of when I take it. I wander around like a zombie, yawning endlessly when I take it.

I couldn't handle it - One day I ended up falling asleep for an hour and a half in the middle of the day, and I still felt like I hadn't slept in years.

But this does show that each person reacts differently. Guess it's another crapshoot to see what works, but I simply can't handle not being able to function with crippling fatigue, I have to take care of my kids and work at night.

No thanks.

I have been on celexa for 2+ years starting first with 20mg onto 30mg. I started weaning off at 20mg for a week. I have had intense nightmares, headaches, flu-like body aches especially the neck. I have gained 11 pounds in the past year and struggled with loss of labido. Recent lab results that the drug is negatively affecting my liver and I must stop taking. Looking at other naltural alternatives such as 5-HTP.

I was on Citalopram (generic for Celexa) for 3 months for severe panic attacks. Body aches and fatigue got worse and worse all the time. I have been off the medication for 1 week now and the side effects are rediculous! I want to sleep all day and I crash when I get home, feeling like I am coming down w/ the flu constantly. I am 24 years old and I feel like I'm 100!!! I wish I had never started taking this medication in the first place. Has anyone had these same side effects?

does celexa make you have decreased appetite? I have lost five lb in 9 days. I am just not hungry and kind of nauseated.

I've had the same issues and I'm on 40mg also since increasing the dosage from 20mg to 40mg I've felt even less hungry and more tired. My dr. said that the weight loss may not be attributed to the celexa because its supossed to have few side effects...

Iv been on celexa now for 3+ years and iv noticed the fatigue as a side affect for sure, at first it used to make me veryt wired for a few months and i had to take it in the morning but now i take it at night, I also noticed a tremedous decrease in my appetite, I dont having cravings anymore and i often find it hard deciding what i want to eat because nothing is appealing to me anymore :( I noticed an increase in going to the bathroom to pee, I also noticed i get the shakes from time to time, and im not sure if this is has to do with celexa, it could just be me but befor i ever took celexa i used to drink ice capps, and coffee and now ANYTHING with caffeine in it even so much as a glass of pop sets off my anxiety its as though after starting celexa i seem to be ultra sensitive to caffeine.

This posting made me think of what it's been like for me to go swimming. I was given Ambien to help me sleep for one week during a cold. I was afraid to mix Ambien and Celexa, so I stopped taking Celexa. I was like a different person, organized and getting things done. Ambien helped me sleep through the night for the first time in years. I could feel a real difference in swimming without the Celexa..less cramping and tightening. I'm back on Celexa [pm only](I thought Ambien was wearing me down) and I'm feeling so hazy at work that I'm rescheduling stuff left and right like I used to. I would like to get off the "med" roller coaster.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Leo

This is one of those days when money slips through your fingers in no time at all unless you're very vigilant about your spending habits. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to stop yourself splashing out whenever the fancy takes you, whether or not you can afford it. You're especially drawn to tempting little treats and luxurious indulgences.
