mikeb, 3 weeks is not very long, most side affects go away, you should eventually feel pretty confortable, as far as still being anxious... you may need a higher dose, remember it take about 4 weeks for celexa to take full affect.

Hi, My daughter was put on celexa 20mg about 3 weeks ago, last Sunday March 26th, she blacked out while driving, Does anyone know if this could be a side effect from the celexa? The Doctors are running test and so far nothing has come up. I'm concerned that this drug may have caused this, when I asked the Dr. said she didn't know and needed to read about it.....

Keifer, Did your daughter go right to 20mg? I when 5mg to 10mg to 15mg to 20mg. I always felt a tiny bit wierd when I would jump a dose. I would wonder is she can't work her way up to 20mg. I have been on celexa for 6 months and I feel fine. Going from 0mg to 20mg seems a big jump. Good luck.
MikeB, 20 mg is still a low dose, give is a week or two then step up the dose, if the doc agrees, you should feel fine eventually. There are side effects at first (headaches, hand tremors, dry mouth, a little tired)[ at least for me] all go away (except decease libedo, but tolorable)

I started celexa in november 2005 at 20mg. I had a miscarraige in December. I have no past history of miscarraige and have four healthy daughters. Has anyone else had a miscarraige while starting or on Celexa?

I have just upped my dosage to 60 mg. Is anyone else taking that much? Any problems? I've been on Celexa for about 5 months.

Do you feel any different? Is it better? I still feel like I want to go up to 80mg already. It feels about the same as the 40mg except I got a little upset stomach. Thanks for responding!

Jen, I agree it feels about the same as 40 mg, but I think it’s too early for me to tell if it will be better. I had major depression with anxiety and pain in my legs and arms. 40 mg just about cured me but I still had some pain in the legs and one short spell where things got worst, so I'm trying 60 mg. I still have a little pain in the legs sometimes but overall I feel great. Time will tell. Please post back and let me know how it's working out for you. I'll do likewise.

I've been on the Celexa 60mg for about 2-3 weeks now. I am reaaaallllyyyy doing good on it now. I am more interested in myself now. For example like putting on jewelry, taking more of an interest on how I look. My daughters tell me I look extravagant now! The first week was hard, I had alot of nausea. If there is any females reading this, I am having a hard time conceiving on the Celexa. I had a miscarraige when I first started taking it. Keith, is the Celexa the cause for the pain in your legs? The doctor wouldn't give me 80mg. She said it was too much for me to take. She said it the 60mg Celexa didn't work, she would change my prescription and try out Efflexor(I think that is what it's called). For now I am feeling great also on the 60mg. I wish I could just stop taking it altogether, but it does help me quit stressing on little stuff. Keep me posted!!

The leg pain is not from the celexa. Leg and arm pain was why I went to the doctor in the first place. Fortunately he realized what a wreck I was without running a bunch of tests. Celexa has really helped and most of my symptoms are gone.
