I was on Celexa for over 10 years, did not notice any weight changes at first. However, after taking the medication for awhile I found that it indeed causes weight gain. My appetite was insatiable, I had intense food cravings, and I think my metabolism was affected as well. It did not matter how much I tried to control my cravings or how much I exercised, I gained 25 lbs. overall in the time I was on it. I have since been switched to Wellbutrin and it's amazing how my appetite has been affected; I no longer obsess about food and my hope is that I will be able to take off the weight I gained on the Celexa. If you start gaining weight, don't let people tell you that you just need to "eat better" - you can't eat better when you are dealing with such intense cravings. There was a point in time where I was getting up in the middle of the night, stomach growling,(mind you, I shouldn't have been hungry), and put away 2 bowls of cereal like I hadn't eaten for 2 days. There are other medications out there that don't cause this problem - I seriously encourage you to talk to your doc about it. Gaining 25 pounds would make anyone feel depressed. Good luck!

I have been taking Klonopin 20mg X 2 for 2 years and this past month or so 20 mg in the morning. I also take 20 mg adderall in the morning and 10 mg at lunch. I just moved and have 2 days left of klonopin. i cannot afford to see a psychiatrist and have a bottle of celexa that my pld psychiatrist prescribed me too before I moved and never took. If I start taking that immediatley, will that help reduce the withdrawal of klonopin when i have no choice but to stop taking it? if so, i will start the celexa today, and i can afford a psychiatrist in month or so.... but i just started a new job, hence the move, and i have no money, but to get to work.... and none for food.... and no, there is no government assistance for me, immediate, even though i worked for 16 years and paid into these programs everyone gets help,,, not me. can i replace the klonopin with celexa? i have to know something, bc as this is a new job.... i cannot loose it. i have to do something ,,, asap. someone please help.

My husband takes Celexa to control extreme Anger, he has put on a lot of weight.(30 lbs) Can this gain in weight cause the drug to not work as well, like does he need a stronger dose, he takes 40 mg now but is going back to his very unmanageable anger spurts, and is very disagreeable to be around. I just wonder if he needs a larger dose to mellow him out?

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Capricorn

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
