I have been on celebrex for the last 2 weeks. I have experienced completely different effects. First I have had a chronic cough for over 12 years and nobody every found cause or helped. On celebrex I have stopped coughing, blood pressure went down from 158/120 to 137/91. I sleep great and I have no inflamation at all.
Maybe I am just lucky

I started taking Celebrex last year. I was told that it was not a long term drug so after four months I stopped taking it. Within three days I could barely get out of bed. I resumed taking Celebrex and after about a week I felt great. I've been on it now for about nine months but I was advised by my doctor that I should go off of it periodically. It's been three days and I'm back to square one. I hate this!! I asked if I should have a liver function test and I was told that it was necessary with Celebrex. I also am having trouble losing weight. Is this normal with Celebrex use? Should I have pressed for the liver function test anyway? I have pain in my right eye and when I cough I feel like the right side of my head is going to explode. I want to do the right thing. With the Celebrex I have no pain but I was told to stop and start it. What to do? I'm really scared and anxious about this.

I've taken Celebrex daily for 3 years without any problems. In the beginning there were some palpitations, but they quickly subsided. Rising blood pressure is a problem for many people, and can become a danger, but my bp remains at 120/80. Celebrex is the only medication I have found that works for my headache caused by inflammation.

My father had been on celebrex for several years for arthritis pain, later darvocet TID that made him sloppy so MD took him off celebrex, he deteriorated into this anxiety ridden fearful psycosomatic person who just fell apart for about 6 months. Stumbling around requiring constant supervision. unable to to complete thoughts or write checks, he'd grasp his head in hoplessness. lost wt and swallowing difficulties. He'd get stuck in bed, his legs were hard as rocks. He had tremendous pain eventually found the celebrex in his closet and took it . He immediately showed vast improvment almost like a miracle. within two days was back to his ole self -getting out of the house and particpating in daily activities like before. He gained wt, Stopped stuttering, his thought become clear again he even bought the local daily newspaper again!

My doctor recently put me on Celebrex for arthritis -- it's the only thing that helps for the pain. My doctor said it's very important for me to come in every 3 months for blood draw for liver functions and to keep him informed of any symptoms I may experience. I'm nervous about taking a long-term medication that can cause other problems (such as ulcers, kidney/liver problems), but my doctor is very good about monitoring his patients. If you can't get answers from your doctor, you should see another one for a second opinion. You shouldn't have to suffer with such symptoms and be stressed out over taking the medication.

I am very sorry for your loss.

It is the sometimes difficult to weigh the benefits of a drug against the dangers. Celebrex is one of those medications that may be the only thing that works, and so we choose.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
