Diabetes drug tied to bone fractures

type 2 also and they took me off it and now I'm getting high 170-269 readings.I thought I had it under control, now this crap without any alternative drug.

Dear Bill, do not change your doctor. Your doctor is right. If you do not want to take Avandia, then insulin is the best next choice
You also should start doing following things
1. Decrease consumption of simple carbohydrates, such as white bread, cakes, Coca-Cola, juices, pasta, potato, candy….
2. Increase consumption of complex carbs: whole wheat, barley, legumes…
3. increase consumption of food with high level of W-3 fatty acids: cold water fish.
4. supplement Chromium up to 400mcg/day
5. Magnesium 500mg/day
6. More fibers in the food: broccoli, oat bran…
7. Vitamin C up to 2g/day for 1 month
8. Take multi-vitamins
9. The last and the most important!!! You mast exercise for 40min every day!!

I'm taking actos, that has been implicated in the bone thinning process. I have taken 15m.g. daily for over four years. I wonder if there is any information on dosage levels in relation to prevalence of fractures and bone thinning amounts by this drug. Medscape, I believe has carried information that ACTOs also creates bone thinning. In fact from the blog Diabetes Update: Avandia Causes Osteoporisis and Broken Bones - But Actos does TOO!--this blog relates a medical study of bone fracture increase in women with actos. The blog author Jenny related the info.

My husband is a type 2 and takes Lantus insulin injections along with Metformin tablets. His diabetes are under control with these 2 meds. He was prescribed Avandia but after the last report on the stuff, he stopped taking it. Increase the insulin a little and all is good.

you can take some cinomon daily it will lower your suger but be careful consult a doctor first it makes my suger drop and i am on insuline it really is not so bad personaly i would definatly take insuline befor pills anyday i dont want to suffer side affects
