Not sure where I read or heard this and now think maybe I dreamed it up...that Ambien would become an over-the-counter drug shortly. Anybody heard this or did I make it up? Thanks for any info.

Nope... not OTC but you can purchase it online in generic form usually coming from India, Greece or France. Pills cost about $1 each compared to $5ish each in US BUT I don't recommend taking it AT ALL!!
Just FYI... those versions DO NOT have the crazy psycho side effects of the american version. But, now that I'm finally off of the "psycho pills" I'd advise anyone else to stay far far away from all of it. Mine are all down the toilet (probably making the fishies psychotic).
If you read my post in the "Ambien Problems" thread you'll understand more of what I'm talking about. AND it doesn't start that way... the psychosis sets in over time. Starts with simple sleep walking and confusion over, guess what, whether you dreampt something or it really happened and progresses to dangerous levels after that.

Is there a more powerful sleep aid over the counter then the ones I take with only 25mg of Diphenhramine.

I thought of buying from a online store like
www.drugstores.name

I dont think so you can buy 24 capsules at dollar general for 1.25 of pay 10 or 12 dollars for somminex which is exactly the same thing. All those expensive sleep aids contain 25 mg diphenhydramine Dolores RN in Louisiana same thing just different price.

I saw this on CNN.Yes over the counter....FDA approved thank the good Lord.I am a hopeeless insomniac and this is a blessing...however the drug company manages the strength of the public consumption and I do not think this will apply to the cr time. They will not be cheap!

Zolpidem (Ambien) is a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Drugs on this schedule include:(Xanax),(Librium), diazepam (Valium)

It will never be OTC.

The generic form Zolpidem (something like that) is out and I find it WAY more potent than the band name, not sure why since it's suppose to be the same drug... i don't think this drug will ever make it OTC, there is no way the FDA would allow that... too addictive

Please don't generalize from your personal experience. Everyone's metabolism is different. Ambien is the most wonderful medication I've ever taken. No side-effects with me. Just floats me away to uplifting, rejuvenating sleep.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Pisces

Relationships are kind of shaky under this Lunar Cycle and you may even get the distinct impression you're heading for a major showdown with a certain someone. Although this feels like a crisis, don't let panic or desperation push you into decisions you would normally steer clear of. You may think you've reached the end of the road, but this isn't a good reason to go off the deep end and make drastic decisions. Proceed with caution!
