Ambien hurts the sex life changes food cravings?

ALSO, tell me about the things that AMBIEN might (MIGHT) be effecting in a manner which not only puts the bizzare events and occurences INTO your life, but takes normal stuff out of your life?
Do any of you find yourself having food cravings that are specific and run a craving cycle of three to five weeks? I've been cycling various foodstuffs that I would otherwise not CRAVE and eat truckloads of the stuff craved!! Anyone else??(I'll tell you the kinds of things I craved after you tell me....that way you can't be influenced by my answers before you give me yours!!

What about sex? Has is effected sex....you with a spouse...you with ____-friend, you by yourself? How much does Ambien reduce or increase desire? How much does Ambien reduce or increase performance?
Does Ambien reduce or increase orgasm by quantity or quality?

All i know is that is if some people take it and have sex with there partner, they dont remember having sex.

As for the cravings. I'm not much of an eater. Since my sleep is much more important to me then eating, I make sure I cut myself off from eating after about 2:00 p.m. This way the Ambien works well for me when I take it at 8:00 at night.......HOWEVER, the snack craving comes in..and I'm eating one thing after another. Chips, Diet Coke, Hot Dog, etc.

As for sex. Ambien gives me that little "high" before I go to sleep, but not the kind of "high" that makes me feel like getting out of bed or having an relations with my husband.....taking the Ambien usually adds to my already exhausted body from the day. I try to plan my intimate related activities before I take my Ambien.

it decreases your sex drive, your nerves are numb and increases your appetite for carbs and fried foods-so you gain weight

Ambien hasn't affected my sex life since I take it just before I'm ready to go to sleep.

I'm a fitness buff, so I'm very careful what I eat and Ambien hasn't really affected that for me.

I don't know if this blog is still going or if anyone reads it anymore. I just came across it tonight while trying to find out if weight gain is a side effect of Ambien/Zolpidem. I started taking Ambien a few weeks ago obviously for insomnia. I have had this problem since a kid and am now 23. I tried over the counter stuff that never seemed to work, and just dealt with my sleeping disorder up until a few years ago. When I started smoking marijuana. I would smoke right before bed and was out like a light. Well, since it is illegal I decided to get some help. I was prescribed Ambien, and I feel it works wonders. But, what happens at the end of your 30 day supply? Am I then just $*** out of luck? I don't want to go back to smoking marijuana. I'm wondering if I should then try another sleep aid. I think Lunesta is non habit forming, but not sure. But, back to my main topic, I would only smoke pot right before bed, and pass right out. But, a few hours later I would wake up for just a few minutes go to the kitchen and binge on icecream, chips, and all that kind of stuff, while I was still half asleep. Then get right back into bed and never remember until I would walk into the kitchen the next day and see candy wrappers, empty icecream tubs, and things of that sort. But, I never gained any weight. Now that I have been taking Ambien I don't do the binge eating in the middle of the night anymore, but I am definitely starting to gain weight. It's so strange, it does make me crave foods, but not anything too fatty. I've just been craving Trader Joe's salads, and fruits. And come to think of it I might be cravings carbs more than usual. But, overall I have the same eating habits as always. I have always been a very petite girl, so the weight I'm gaining is pretty noticible. I'm not fat, but it's just noticible weight. And on the whole sex topic thing I have no clue, I have been celebate for two years now, but it seems that the number of occasions on which I enjoy myself are increasing since I've been taking Ambien. So, I could only assume that if I was sexually active, my sex drive would have gone up too. Feel free to comment I would love any positive feedback that might help. Thank You.

I have been taking Ambien every night for about 10 years. I break the 10 mg tablet to equal about 7.5 mg. I take as prescribed and go to bed about the same time every night. I had no bizarre side effects until about 2 years ago. I took my Ambien, but did not go to bed. It kicked in, had that little "high," and I decided to eat. I pigged out on some crazy stuff. Ever since then, if I take it and do not immediately go to bed, I will raid the pantry and make some unusal combinations... in large quantities. I always feel so sick to my stomach the next morning. And then I beat myself up for doing it, but it was like I was in a trance. I feel SO sick the next morning, I wonder if there is some sort of wierd side effect from all of the factors... staying awake, eating while on Ambien, then sleep. Would I feel this gross if I simply pigged out at night without Ambien then sleep. I don't think so. I have read that people taking Ambien will go to sleep, then later get out of bed and sleep-eat. I have never done that. It is just if I stay awake after I take the Ambien. It is very embarassing and there is really noone I would tell. Has anyone else experience this?
As far as the sex, I have 10 years of experience on this... As a woman, it makes it better. I'm more relaxed and have fewer inhibitions.

I have been taking Ambien now for 4 years. The last year I have had food cravings after taking it. I gained 30 lbs in 4 months. My doctor couldn't figure out why I was gaining so fast, but I know it's b/c of the Ambien. There's no telling what I'm eating at night. I don't remember it.
And yes, I have sex with my husband and don't remember it ever. The good part of that is that he gets sex whenever he wants it. I have found that it increases my sex drive but numbs the sensations. That's just me though.

I'm looking for something to kill my sex drive because it always gets in the way of my life, and all the women I meet my own age are pretty much over the hill at 40 and done with meaningful sex because they are overweight and eat unhealthy foods. Funny how women who have a tub think that they're average because the average woman today is basically fat. Will ambien kill my sex drive or at least numb me out so that I don't need to seek out younger womrn who have nothing meaningful to talk about.

I have been on Ambien for 5 years now. As far as a sleep aid, it's wonderful. However, if I have already taken my ambien for the night and am intimate with my husband, I have little to no memory of it in the morning. If I take the ambien and stay on the computer, I tend to do a lot of online shopping. Odd stuff, like change pass words and then don't remember them.
As far as food, it has made me a huge carb craver! Nights that I do not go directly to bed after taking my pill, I usually end up eating an entire bag of goldfish crackers!

Ambien and sex is easily one of the greatest things on earth, of course next to a good cheeseburger. I just got done myself and was completely lost in my wifes beautiful body, eyes in the back of my head type orgasm. If your already an ambien user this is a must try no doubt about it. So what are you waiting for?

i have been taking ambien for 3years and just recently stopped getting the high feeling before going to bed. in the past i would take 1 10mg tablet about 2o mins before bed and enjoy those twenty minutes of spacing out.

Has this happened to anyone else? i tried upping my doses, buy=t still the same.

I've been taking ambien for twelve years or so. There are good and bad things to ambien sex. I'm much less inhibited during sex and that's a good thing. I also might fall asleep right before his orgasim. That's a bad thing. I never do this anymore but I used to drink wine and have computer or phone sex. It was fun but I stopped it for a serious relationship. It's the eating that drives me crazy. I eat anything that is in my refrigerator or on top of the counter. I never go into the pantry. I've never tried to cook anything.

I have found that if i take Ambien and end up having sex I will just go and go and go for a very long time. Whether that is good or not depends on your partner. I can't say I have ever had any weird food behavior, but I have recorded myself saying some crazy things with no memory of it the next day.

I just started taking ambien a few weeks ago. The prescribed 5mg does nothing for me, so I take two. I started fooling around with my bf after taking them the other night and was pretty focused the whole time... Had an orgasm and bam... Everything went loopy. I got up, put on clothes, went outside and ran around a bit, came back inside and ate 4 chocolate chip cookies and then proceeded to just wander around the apartment talking about how we needed to call maintainence to get them to fix the floor because it was too topsy-turvey....

I took ambien for 2 months
oh my fucking god...I would be high and spaced out..nice feeling though..I got crazy food cravings I stuffed my face..didn't even realize ..I would do crazy things..then I would wake up and didn't remember anything until my sis told me what I was doing. haha also after a while I wouldn't be high after taking it ..it kinda stopped working..

It shocked me at first but I was fine with Ambien sex (I was married so it was with my husband at the time; not strangers which would be dangerous)!

I have physical problems with pain and inflammation which the ex never understood or accepted so he left me for a manic-depressive woman with a drinking problem. His loss.

I do miss sex though, even Ambien sex that I barely remember was better than none at all and I must have been more relaxed because I didn't get cystitis after A-sex.

I don't think my ex liked me being so relaxed because it meant he had to work harder to "get himself off" because I wasn't working as hard to get him off.

I take massive quantities of Ambien everyday, even to go to work. As a model, I need to look very relax and posing without stress. My face looks a bit strange but the pictures are good. I crave for ice cream during the night. Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night and go buy stuff, eat eat, writting strange emails to my friends, acting a bit weird with people around and almost forget the whole thing the day after. But i would not call it sleepwalking. When I'm alone, i can masturbate up to 5 times a day. With my partner, it's just so good. I don't thing he realizes the little extra....
Will I regret this post tomorrow? Will I even remember?

Ambien and sex is awesome. Takes that little edge off that allows you to be a little more expiremental than normal. My wife loves ambien sex. So do I......at the time. It's not uncommon to remember the romances from the night before.
