Ok here's one for you all. A guy, with 2 daughters comes home from work to find his 15 yr old with pics of herself, scantily dressed and in provocative poses. After some checking, found out that she planned to put them on the net. He was livid, told her that he was going to talk with her mother.(his ex) But this daughter talked him out of it, promising that she wouldn't do anything like this again if he would just not tell her mom. He agreed. Weeks later the dad comes home and finds her with a boy in a compromising position. This time he lost it with her, sent the boy home and said she couldn't see the boy again. But she said she would not stop seeing him no matter what her dad said. They continuously argued about this. The dad had lost a very good job and after some time of looking for work, became very depressed. He was put on an antidepressant, as well as ambien for sleep. Then one day the dad is watching the game in the living room. He did not notice when the 15 yr old came into the room until she pranced in front of the tv and he saw that she was totally naked. He was shocked at her behavior and told her to return to her room. He proceeded to rant, saying this as well as her recent behavior was out of line and inappropriate. She went back in her room but soon came out, dressed. Acting like nothing had happened, she said,"dad, do you want your ambien now so you can get some sleep?" Just thinking that she was trying to forget what just happened, he just agreed. She made the comment then that he always acted 'fun' and 'crazy' when he took it. He thought nothing of this comment at the time.
Now fast forward a week. He and his daughter had had many arguments about her boyfriend but the dad stuck to his guns, forbidding her from seeing him. Plans had been made prior to this that the dads fiance' would be moving in and she was coming that day. The youngest loved the fiance but the 15 yr old did not, so it was the topic of many arguments. So when there was a knock on the door, he opened it, expecting it to be his fiance'but instead found that it was the police. To his shock they arrested him for the sexual assault of his daughter. In the interview, the oldest daughter said that her dad had sexually assaulted her many times during the past year! He denied all of the allegations and added that he would never think of doing something harmful to her, especially that! Prior to this, he had no record, not even a speeding ticket and aside from the most recent incidents, had a great relationship with his daughters. In fact, he was known as being an exceptional dad. What she is stating happened is horrible. But he is adamant that he has no memory of anything. He's begged to have a polygraph or even to be hypnotized but has been denied. He had been on ambien but as far as he knows he just went to bed after taking it. But now the comments that she made about how 'fun and crazy' he got on the ambien are making him wonder. After the police searched his home, they found pics of her with a man, having sex. He was only shown 1 pic and claims that the man is definitely not him. He wanted to see all of the pics but was denied. His lawyer said that it was definitely his daughter in the pictures, and actually added the comment,"it's obvious that she(the daughter)is having a great time."
There are a lot more details to tell but this is the main story. The dad is now sitting in prison. The daughter is again seeing the boy that she had been caught with and appears to be having the time of her life without her dad interfering anymore. I know this man. He is beside himself with the thought that he might have done harm to his own daughter. But he really can't defend himself since he has no memory of anything!
I'm putting this on here for 2 reasons, 1)BE CAREFUL with AMBIEN! This could happen to anyone, and 2)because I want to hear others thoughts on this. If you're going to just throw out nasty names or ridicule, save it. I just want to hear from adults. Thanks
Joe

I was on Ambien for a couple of years. The first time I know of that anything happened, I was stayng in a hotel with my wife and daughter. I went into the bedroom to take my blood pressure medicine, and apparently got it mixed up with the Ambien.

We ordered dinner and desert, and the next thing I knew, I woke up in the morning. I was laying there really confused and wondered if I had gotten drunk and blacked out. I looked around the room and there wasn't any alcohol, but, there was evidence of room service and food that had been eaten.

I asked my wife about it when she woke up and she said, "You were SOooo funny!". I did not order any desert because I am pre-diabetic. But, apparently, I ate everyone elses saying things like, "May I have a taste of your delicious chocolate cake?", then I woofed the whole thing down.

When I got home I looked at my blood pressure pills next to the Ambien, and they looked alike except one was blue and the other was white.

As time went on, I would get up and prepare strange meals in the middle of the night. One morning my wife showed me a pan with some red looking soup. I had made Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup and decided it would be great with about half a cup of chili powder. I paid for that later that morning!

I started getting up and doing things and saying creepy bizzarre things to my wife and kids, so, I finally got off of it and went back to Temazapam, and the weird behavior stopped.

My fiance has normally high anxiety and that past few months this has translated into night terrors and trouble sleeping. His doctor prescribed him Ambien 10mg last week. The first night he took it everything was fine. He slept a solid 6 hours (before he couldn't stay down for more than 3 or 4) and woke up a lot more rested.

However, the next night he took it while we were already in bed and fell asleep. The problem is, he didn't stay asleep. He had more nightmares, woke me up and told me about them, and I don't think ever really went back to sleep.

When I got up in the morning, I was upset when some of the things he told me and I asked him to comfort me, he told me I was scary. He flipped out, got angry, left in a rage. I called him and got him to come home, he was still enraged, yelling, saying hateful things. I tried to make him stay home because of it and he threw everything off the bed, couch, kitchen table, dumped out a basket of laundry, threw my phone and went through my purse. He tried to take my keys and generally just threw everything he could touch in the floor. I eventually let him go to work and after about an hour of e-mailing on my part he wrote me and said he felt unfocused, very ill, and had a general paranoid feeling that he was going to die.

When he started taken Ambien we were worried that if might exacerbate his anxiety but we both forgot when he blew up at me. He eventually wrote back and said, what was I doing earlier. I remember, but it doesn't make sense. I'm sorry."

He remembers being a little upset, but he doesn't remember everything that happened and now that he's out of it he can't make himself understand why it happened.

Ambien is great, if you take it and you don't wake up. You have to sleep it off. And if you do wake up there's nothing you can really do about but play out a bunch of actions that you won't remember.

My doctor prescribed me ambien for sleep. The first night I slept great! I used to have a high dependency on barbituates (xanax, valium, ativan, etc.) March of this year I have been clean and sober of all narcotics, alcohol, and cigarettes one Year. I am now prescribed prozac during the day and ambien at night. I noticed when I take it at night my anxiety is completely gone and it gives me the feeling of a xanax again. Now I am taking it during the day cuz it helps me with my stress. I am worried I am becoming addicted to it? Any suggestions? Is ambien a narcotic? Can I become physically addicted?

Bitter, un-educated, and confused middle-aged women with relationship problems complaining about ambien again. You should read the insert before you take it in these situations.

as for me ambein in smaller doses works just a little for me.lets say 5mg.But im trying and using it for when i get anxouis!!i hope it works.i just took one pill a half an hour ago.im starting to feel somewhat calm lol!i hope its helps i hate being nervous all the time!does ambein really help for nerves??please e-mail me if youve taken this med for that reason! thank you, chuck c.
I have taken 5mg. To ease tension. It works, but with a fuzzy feeling goes along with it. The longer I stay awake on ambien, the worse my headache will be for me on the day that I wake up from some sleep. I'd rather take a valium for those tense times.

First of all, if you take an Ambien - GO TO BED!! Driving with kids in the car, making phone calls, all this seems crazy to me. I have taken Ambien off & on for the last 6-7 yrs during some stressful times in my life and I love it because I can get some sleep & I don't feel like I'm a complete zombie. Our dog got sick in the middle of the night, I heard it, I woke up, cleaned it up and went back to bed. I remembered it the next day very vividly. I've had afew drinks, came home, took an Ambien, had sex (which I remember) and slept GREAT! I definitely think it effects people differently & you should be careful but you have to be smart about it too. Go to bed immidately after taking it, give yourself at least 7 hours of sleep time & you shouldn't have any hangover from it or amnesia. It's great!!

I have always has problems sleeping so when my Doctor prescribed Ambien I thought it was the miracle drug. After a year or so,my wife would ask me if I had gotten up in the night to fix something to eat. I replied "no", but in fact, I had, while fully asleep jumped our of bed and fixed a full meal, entree, vegetables, salad and even dessert. Mots of all, I consumed nearly all of it!
Later episodes would include 2AM motorcycle rides, email and blog postings (one of which divulged large amounts of inside information about our company and it nearly resulted in my discharge from a 20+ year job). finally I went on a long airline flight and took and Ambien to help me sleep the hours away. Apparently I got unruly and they nearly diverted the plane to land to place me under arrest. I have absolutely no memory of any of the above events (and countless more). I will add my wife says the best sexual episodes in our 30 year marriage were under the influence of Ambien... shame I can’t remember!
I was always reluctant to tell my Doctor about this for fear he would take me off Ambien, which was worse than the craziness of taking it.
After the "airline incident" I finally broke down and told the Doctor the entire story.
He immediately took me off Ambien and put me on Lunesta. I realize Lunesta has had reports of "amnesia" but so far, in 2 years it has yet to happen to me and Lunesta is just as effective after 2 years as it was when I started taking it. If you don't have insurance, Lunesta is expensive (about $170 for 30 tablets). Hopefully a generic will be available within the not-to-distant future.
Meanwhile, discuss it with your Doctor. Read the other horror stories on the Internet about patients who were normal people, waking up in jail after serious accidents, some of which resulted in deaths, plus assault and battery, public indecency and many more... all under the influence of Ambien and nobody had any memory of how they wound up in jail. There are safer prescriptions just as effective that don't lend themselves to dependency, and don’t cause “Ambien Amnesia”
If only I could recapture that “sex” thing......

I've had sleep problems for the past 13 yrs or so. I've been on trazadone, ambien, and a few others that I can't remember the names of. Ambien works ok for me, but does make me do weird stuff at night. My gf woke me up from the kitchen table with donuts still in my mouth..so I tried remeron. Helped me get to sleep like I normally would when I was tired(not the clumsy, foggy kind of tired ud get with ambien or trazadone, and it helped me sleep till I was ready to wake up. Didn't feel overly tired the next morning like I did on trazadone. But the only side effect I got was an increase in appetite. I liked it cuz im a bodybuilder and I worked out hard enough to where it turned to muscle rather than store as fat. But everyones different so u might have a different side effect from it. Anyways, if ur looking for something to help u sleep other than ambien, try remeron(mirtazapine) and its not a controlled substance or habit forming. Hope this helps someone.

Ambien is an excellent sedative, but taking more than two a day probably is not wise.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Pisces

Relationships are kind of shaky under this Lunar Cycle and you may even get the distinct impression you're heading for a major showdown with a certain someone. Although this feels like a crisis, don't let panic or desperation push you into decisions you would normally steer clear of. You may think you've reached the end of the road, but this isn't a good reason to go off the deep end and make drastic decisions. Proceed with caution!
