Ambien problems

I have been taking Ambien CR 12.5 several times a week for a few months now and I still only sleep four to five hours. I have noticed lapses in memory, increased anxiety, agression, thoughts of suicide, and feeling just generally psychotic. Now that I have read these posts, I know why! I'm happy if it works for whoever but I am taking myself off of it. There should also be warnings on the bottle about possible drug interactions. I have also been given clonazepam for the anxiety. I have been "prescribed" a psychotic cocktail!!!

i snort this shit and well cant stop and well its the new rich white people herion rough bizness.. snort 2 10's during the day and stay awake throughout the entire day convos and all remember almost all of it i think im goin crazy though..

I have problems with Ambien too. If i don't go to sleep within an hour of taking it, i basically go phycotic. I get up and pace around my room talking to myself, sometimes I start to cry for no reason. It kinda like a bad trip on acid or something. I have problems sitting still and paying attention if I'm at the computer. It's scary my mom tells me, but I don't usually have much recolection of it the next morning.
I still live at home so my mom is able to come into my room and sit with me until I start to calm down and get sleepy again.
It's really weird and I often think about going off it, but then at night, if i haven't taken it, I worry so much that I can't sleep, I end up not sleeping at all. I think I've become addicted. What do I do?

Talk to your doctor about switching you to Lunesta. My doctor did and except for the taste it leaves there are fewer side effects and I think it is more effective. If you are also depressed Lunesta may worsen that condition. But if it is just the insomnia then talk to your doctor. I would not take Ambien again if it were the last sleep med. on earth!

After reading everyone's testimony, I realize I have to stop using this wicked drug. My husband told me that in a short time span, I washed dishes, cooked 2 full meals, then completely passed out and hurt my back and tailbone. I became extremely angry when he tried to help me up. Now, I realize it was Ambien. If I can, I am stopping. Plus, I am tried of finding evidence of eating by my bedside in the morning!
