Ha ve any of the women here actually sought legal advice as this IS rape.
if anyone ever goes through this call the police-having 'sex' with someone who's sleeping or unaware of whats going on is considered rape by law.
and to the women who are filing for divorce make sure you mention these things to your lawyers .
and the woman who was raped by her boyfriend and his friend you need to go to the cops aswell - dont just leave as a trrible event do something about it,these men who do these things will go on to do rape other women.

Jen is paranoid and delusional. Obviously I wouldn't want to be with a flake that flakes out as soon as she thinks something bad might have happened.
Overreacting much? Has he ever hurt you? Does he not take care of you?

Guys, if you have to slip ambien to your wife to get sex, put a bullet in your head for being a loser. I ask for it and get it from any woman i want, no drugs involved. Quit being pussies and just ask for sex. Women, quit taking damn drugs to help you sleep. How about geting your ass up in the a.m., cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Fold some clothes, wash dishes....do something to make yourself tired when night comes. And I swear i will kill anyone who harms a kid.

Amazing how people are so quick to access a man of being evil. Most of the posts here are not from men 'slipping' ambien to a woman. Most of the women that are complaining about men taking advantage of them are acknowledging that there is a 'side-affect' but are not acknowleding that they could be the sexual aggressor when on the drug. Men are posting saying that when they refuse these advances this causes huge fights.

Talk about damned if you do damned if you don't. If you don't like the side effects, take a different sleeping pill.

Ambien is a strong drug. I know how it effects me. It's cool sometimes to wake up the next day, and not remember what you did the bight before. I'm sure it could be used as a date rape drug if someone needed to do such a thing.

the people discussing this seem to be divided. and unfortunately, it seems to be split among the gender lines. guess what guys? if you are married and your wife is taking ambien and it results in some sort of sexual encounter that night, you have a duty to inform her that it's going on! she's supposed to be the "love of your life" and if you don't tell her, then obviously you don't care about her feelings! it's not about her body, it's about her mind! and ladies, yes, you have a responsibility to your husbands/boyfriends, but not to this extent. in my eyes, there is nothing different between taking ambien and having him take advantage of that (without your consent prior) and him getting you drunk and taking advantage of your weakened state that way... it's despicable that a guy would do that, and if a guy in your life is doing that(once again, without your consent, some women don't mind it as long as they are in a loving, trusting relationship), ladies, you have a duty to yourselves to end the relationship and, for the time being, end the use of ambien.

I agree whole heartedly. I do not drug my wife for my own pleasure but like many have stated she knows the effects on her and if she continues with ambien and initiates well she's getting laid. I told her from the start what happens and what she does. We have been married for over 15 years and have an extremely active sex life and knowing that ambien sometimes leads to blackout sex along with a host off other effects she persists taking ambien. She does not regret what we do just doesn't remember. Remember no means no but why would someone continue putting themselve in a compromising position? These other women wouldn't show up to a frat party naked would they? Trust seems to be the big issue here. Perhaps many of these people should consult a sexual therapist or perhaps just stop taking ambien???? duh!!!

I'm sure this drug is and can be used for rape. There is no doubt there. But married women please be sure you did not start the sex play. Before you blame your husband or worse yell rape. Case in point my wife. She has been taken the generic zolpidem for two years. The effect has now worn off now that she is use to the drug. Back up two years. When she first started taken the drug. The very first night she took it bam. I was half asleep I awake to find my wife stripped naked and all over me. I thought nothing of it just she is in the mood. Once we got started I noticed wow what the hell has got into her. She was just crazy. She wanted and demanded sex every way it could be done. I knew then this is not my wife. She did not remember one bit of it the next day. Night two was laying again ready for sleep again my wife is all over me. I knew then it was the drug. Here is the catch. When I tried to reject her she would become angry and hostile towards me swearing I didn't love her she was not attractive to me anymore. This went on for a hour. I had to give in she was going to get in the car and leave and go to her mothers still naked. Next day again she remembered nothing. The third night. I sat up the video cam hidden from sight. Sure enough 30 mins after taken the pill here she comes all over me stripping us both down naked. I tried to tell her no. And she went into one of her fits cussing and fussing at me. Again I had to give in. The next again she remembered nothing. I then sat her down and showed her the video. She could not believe what she was seeing. And of course said she was sorry. Talked to the doctor he said cut back to a half a dose. Worked like a dream. So ladies I aske please make sure you did not start the sex play or became angry if he tried to say no. Men a video cam can go along ways to show your wife what is really going on. Good Luck and God Bless you All.

All the women here who feel violated by their husbands having sex with them obviously have deeper underlying issues, as well as their men. To hear that sex destroyed a marriage is absolutely ridiculous, and marital rape? Only in America could that concept even exist. If you married him, you also married his c**k. So f**k it. Maybe you ride like a pro when you're on Ambien, and maybe you suck in bed when you're not. FYI, laying in bed and opening your legs does not mean you're good in bed. Maybe if you all cared about pleasuring your men, they wouldn't have to take it upon themselves. Just my opinion. You all need to seriously analyze your own lives before you judge your husband's. Little girls in women's bodies....

Under the old common law, a person could not be guilty of raping his wife. However, most states have partially repealed this exception when it comes to use of force. Most states retain the exception of rape for married couples when it comes to statutory rape. So, depending on your jurisdiction, it likely is not rape to have sex with your wife when she is unconscious or unable able to give consent due to some other sort of incapacity.
