My doctor recently gave me some samples of the drug Aciphex. He told me this was a generic for Prevacid. I have been checking on the Web and cannot find out any information. Is this correct?
Thank you

No, this is not correct. Aciphex is definitely not a generic. In fact, my ins. co usually gives me a difficult time when filling my prescription, because it's costly. But it works really well and I'm fearful to switch to anything else.

I agree!! Aciphex is Rabeprazole and is not currently on the $4 Wal-mart medicine program. Ranitidine is though. Aciphex has worked the best for me though and I have tried many other alternatives.

There is nothing better than Aciphex. It has healed my GERD and prevents all heart burn even the rough weekend binge. I have been on it for 9 years and my insurance company has just recently took it off their list. Blue Cross of California! Horrible. I do get 50% coverage and will pay the 75 dollars if my petitions fail!

Any ideas?

I have been taking Aciphex for a LONG time...I just found out today that if you have liver disease you shouldn't be taking any PPI's...
Anyway, I have been buying my Aciphex from Dr. Solve in Canada...I get their equivilant, which is Pariet...one month of Aciphex , which for me is 2-20mg. pills cost me $300.00 in the US...I can get a 3 month supply from Canada for the same price.

so, isn't possible to buy generic aciphex (Rabeprazole) yet? Aciphex is way too expensive, you get heartburn whenever you have to pay your medical bills.......

If you check their website it states the program expires in July 2008. Each rebate form has it's own expiration date. Contact them at 1-888-224-0222. I've been with the rebate program for @ 5 years and it works great!

My husband has been taking Aciphex for 3 years now I think and with the rebate program we have only paid around $3-4 per month after rebate. It's a great medicine and for all you who say it's too expensive try doing the rebate program it is certainly worth the few minutes. They will send you $30 for each mailed in receipt. Every little bit counts especially when you have 8 mouths to feed!!!!

Rabeprazole

Anybody used this yet?

Input?
Results?
My insurance recently gave me the middle finger on my Aciphex deduction...so I'm at $175 for 30 pills.

ouch.

Considering trying the above alternative but would like to hear if anyone has any experience with it.

Don't care if it's on the walmart cheap list...it's still cheaper than $175!!

I've been on Aciphex for 6-7 yrs. I had to go down one time to Zantac 150 to get the okay to use it for the insurance company (Aetna in Mich).
Anyways heard this drug is one of them heading to generic... probably next year. Has anyone heard when? I thought it was late 2007, early 2008. Gosh I hope so. It's $50 for 30 days or $100 for 90... but still alot.
It's probably going generic because they'll try to get everyone on Camadet (is that right... it's Aciphex and Lipitor combined).

My wife just got prescribed for Aciphex about 4 months ago. It has solved her heartburn problem completely. Never complains now. But I am looking for a less expensive solution. Thanks for the rebate tip.

Aciphex coupon is no longer valid. They do offer a 7 day supply once signed up on their web site.

My husband just received his first rebate check for Aciphex and it took about 3 wks from when we sent the information. They included another rebate coupon so I'll be sending that in today. Fortunately, this drug goes generic in 2009. I'll be happy when that happens.

No they are not the same. I am not sure that the
generic for aciphex is even available yet. I have been on it for years. It works great but is expensive.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
