I just started accutane today for the first time. I am on 40 mg twice a day. I noticed after each pill today that I developed a headache. It hasn't gotten worse yet, but I am monitoring it closely. Thank you for the advice about the Vitamin A. My doctor didn't really go over that with me too well. I will stop taking my multivitamin and see if the headaches improve. At what point should I call my doctor if they don't get better?

They took me off of the 40 mg twice a day because it was giving me really bad headaches. They lowered my dose to just 40 mg a day and everything seems to be fine now.

I'm also on my second day of accutane. 40mg once a day. I had a slight headache the first night and the second night it was worse. I called my doctor and she said to wait until the headache goes away to take another one. And I should call her before I take the next one. Right now my headache is down to a dull nuisance, but she said if it is persistent I should contact my primary care doctor.

The headache is only dangerous if it is accompanied by blurred vision - that would indicate hypertension or brain swelling... be sure not to take antibiotics w/ the tane as that can promote hypertension.

I have been taking Accutane for 13 days and noticed dull, but annoying headaches almost immediately after taking my nightly dose of 40mg. I also take 20mg in the a.m. I saw my dermatologist today and he said to cut back to 2 a day for a while to see if that helps. He said the headaches could be potentially dangerous, but that I would be ok. I just have to monitor how I feel and call them if I'm not improving. The other side effect I've experienced is peeling, dry lips, but I use a Mary Kay lip mask to exfoliate and then the balm to moisturize. I am also one of the people who is getting worse before I'm getting better, with more nodules popping up under the skin, which are very painful. It will be two weeks on Friday, so it's early still. I've tried everything topical and am allergic to antibiotics, so I hope that I am able to keep taking Accutane and that the headaches will subside as others have reported.

The day I started Claravis (generic) 40mg/2x day I immediately got a terrible headache that woke me up with nausea. I called the doc and she said to stop taking it and wait a few days to resume treatment. The headache went away when I stopped. I restarted it a few days later and the headache immediately returned (but not with nausea). On the second day back on the medicine, the doctor had me go immediately to the eye doctor to rule out Pseudotumor Cerebri. They told me that I was ok and that there were no signs of fluid build up around the brain. The headache started to go away on that second day, but my dermatologist still said I had to cut the dose in half for now (40mg/day). So far so good with no headache. I think this medicine is so intense it can trigger pretty bad headaches as your body adjusts to it...but, since headaches can signify a very serious problem, you have to have it checked out!!! I have peace of mind knowing that it is not Pseudotumor Cerebri and now I can keep taking it and hope my body adjusts to it. If anyone is getting bad headaches, see the doctor. It is not worth risking your vision or quality of life.

I am on accutane 30mg a day. Soon after i took my first pill I got a mild headache. By the second pill I had a persistent throbbing headache for two days in a row! I had a headache along with the sensation of pressure behind my eyes and nose...kind of like when you get water up your nose. I called my dermatologist and she said she'd never heard of headaches as a side effect. I have skipped two days of accutane and the headache is pretty much gone. I am going to try taking it again today and see if i lose my vision or if my brain explodes. ahhh this brain swelling stuff is scary

I was on Accutane a few years ago. Let me tell you if you have headaches you have to STOP immediately. Don't let the doctor tell you it's normal. I continued to take it and now have a chronic condition called Benign Intracranial Hypertension. This was caused by Vitamin A toxicity (Accutane). I've been off Accutane for six years now. NOT FUN. 5 out of seven days per week I have pressure headaches. I feel like my head is going to burst and my eyes are buldging out of my eye sockets. It's terrible and irreversible. I have to have repeated spinal taps to remove some of the excess cerebral spinal fluid. I once had a headache for four weeks straing. I contemplated on suicide as a remedy. Very scary. I now take Diamox daily (probably for the rest of my days). Not to mention the pain relievers I have to take just to subside the pain. If my story can help just one person, I hope it does. Don't make the mistake I made. Stay away. Acne at most will last a few years. Most people can control it w/ benzol peroxide and smooth beam treatments at the dermotologists office. You'd be amazed at what those repeated smooth bean treatments do. But if I could go back in time, I would. Just say NO.
Are you talking about severe headaches or just feeling kind of out of it

I'm in the same boat you are!! I just started taking it. Tomorrow will be my... 7th day. So one week. For the first few days I got HORRIBLE headaches. Like, debilitating. Which is unusual for me.
But so far, they've stopped. I'm doing well. Hope you're okay!!

I took Accutane from usa online pharmacy http://isotretinoin-us.info when I was 18. I had suffered with extremely severe acne since I was 11. Accutane was a miracle. It completely cleared my skin within 4 months with minimal side affects. I did have dry skin and pretty chapped lips for 4 months but for clear skin, it was a price I was willing to pay. Think carefully before taking this medicine due to the severe side effects that some people experience, but for me it was 100% worth it. I am now 21 and have had clear skin ever since. I can remember reading about Accutane before taking it and hoping it would be the solution I had been praying for. To this day, I am very grateful for the impact it has had on my life. I would give it a chance!

This is my second day on accutane and I woke up this morning with a bad headache. I didnt think anything of it really since I am a huge coffee drinker and figured it was because I needed my daily caffeine fix. But two cups of coffee later and into the afternoon, my headache was still there...is this a serious side effect of the accutane, and only after the 2nd day?? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I sure hope I don't have to go off of accutane since this is my last hope for being acne-free!!!
Depending on your dosage, this may be the problem. I had headaches when taking 20mg twice in the morning and then once at night (a total of 60mg/daily). After talking to my doctor I spaced the three tablets out over the course of the day, 1 in a.m., afternoon and then at night and it solved the problem for me. Because this is a serious side effect, you should tell your doctor and then make adjustments based on how they advise you. I hope this helps!

Just started Accutane 20 mg. Its already Day 13. I have dry lips, nose bleeding and i've noticed a decrease in libido which is not mentioned in the side effects list. Anyone else having the same problem. I'm quite worried about it.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Sagittarius

Relationships have been going through through testing times since the Solar Eclipse at last month's New Moon in Gemini on May 20. Events may force you to reevaluate the state of a partnership. You may even decide that you need to make some major adjustments if things are to carry on as you would like. During the coming fortnight leading up to the rare second New Moon in Gemini, this may feel like a crisis, but that doesn't mean you should abandon all hope or throw out the baby with the bathwater.
