i was on accutane for 6 months ending in november '10, and by the end of it my skin was completely clear. it stayed that way for 3 or 4 months, until now. i have started to get a few pimples again, and my skin is gradually getting oily. the pores on my nose seem bigger and black-heady (they were fixed for a while). it is nothing bad, but then my acne wasn't bad before accuntane - just persistent, and the oily skin is really annoying. i feel like it isn't nearly bad enough to get the another round, but what do people think? should i make another appointment with my dermatologist? what are the chances he'll give me another round? is accuntane used to treat merely oily skin, when pimples are almost secondary, does anyone know?

i am a month post accutane and i still have alot of red stains,(not solid red marks) on my face. i dont know if its to early to worry about anything but i honestly imagined my skin much clearer at this point in my treatment. i mean it cleared my acne wonderfully and it smoothed my face, which i am extremely happy about. but i still tend to notice my complexion is not the same as the average person. i mean i have some scarring but my cheeks are really red, and seem redder than the usual at times. im just wondering if anyone has experienced this affect for a while and notice it subsided over time?? because i spent alot of money on this medication and i guess i had higher expectations of it. but i guess red marks/scars are better than a face full of inflamed sores on my cheeks. oh well, any advice on the subject would be much appreciated.

Just finished accutane after 4.5months. derm said im all cleared up and should stop treatment, i have been good after that all i have is scaring left over, happy with results, took 35mg a day fro 4.5 months, my acne was mild but i still took accutane and im glad i did. side effects include dry lips, and dry eyes which was veryyy annoying esp when u wake up in morning and cant open eyes coz of dryness but since stopping accutane it has all improved, also dry scalp meant hair wasnt growing as fast as usual and some mild hair loss due to accutane has resulted but nothing too noticable maybe due to my low dosage. good luck with urs all the best

Elsa - I totally remember the eyes glued shut feeling in the morning.:)
I used to blindly reach for the saline solution bottle next to my bed. My skin has been great after accutane and my eyes are slowly starting to feel normal each month. I've even been able to take short naps with my contacts in which I couldn't do just a few months ago. __ Paul Michaels www.AcneTreatmentJournal.com |

I took Accutane from usa online pharmacy http://isotretinoin-us.info when I was 18. I had suffered with extremely severe acne since I was 11. Accutane was a miracle. It completely cleared my skin within 4 months with minimal side affects. I did have dry skin and pretty chapped lips for 4 months but for clear skin, it was a price I was willing to pay. Think carefully before taking this medicine due to the severe side effects that some people experience, but for me it was 100% worth it. I am now 21 and have had clear skin ever since. I can remember reading about Accutane before taking it and hoping it would be the solution I had been praying for. To this day, I am very grateful for the impact it has had on my life. I would give it a chance!

Just started my third month of accutane and I have seen a good improvement in my skin. It's smoother and not oily. I still get an occasional simple or two but not like before. Doc said after this next month I should see a drastic improvement can't wait! This shit works so good only dry lips sucks but it is so worth it. I should've done this sooner.

I was put on acutane for 5 months. Although I did notice a difference in severeness my face was never consistently clear, as promised, throughout the whole cycle. When my derm decided to take me off of it I was VERY hesitant because in my heart I did not feel ready. I went about a month and a half with "nice" skin but since then it has progressively gotten worse. Now about 5-6 months later I am breaking out constantly on my face AND back! I am extremely upset. Origionally I had thought it was stress related but as soon as it started to appear on my back again I felt like I had felt pre-acutane. I am concerned about doing a second cycle due to health risks but the feeling of confidence I had for the short time when I was acne free and not oily was wonderful. I guess I'm going to have to go back to the derm.

I am now about 2.5 years post accutane and have not had any issues. I sometimes get 1 small pimple per month, but it is not consistent each month. My forehead is the most oily part of my face. In fact, my cheeks are extremely dry. Anyone have any good facewash suggestions that don't dry out skin?? Thanks and good luck to everyone! It's totally worth it in the end!

I've had a pretty bad experience with it. Two of my siblings have taken it and their skin is perfect. My skin was pretty bad. And it's in my family to have really oily skin too. During the process my skin was flaky, dry, and itchy. I would get huge swelling on my cheeks and chin. I was constantly drinking water and using lots of lotion.
After only 4 months, my dermatologist canceled the prescription. He said the dosage was too much for my body weight. What? How could he have gotten that wrong? It's been a year since I've been off Accutane. My skin seems to be permanently very dry. Even if I put lots of lotion on it, my skin flakes off. I still have acne. This was NOT worth it for me. |

I've tried both original brand and generic accutane. I prefer generic accutane - There is no difference in effectiveness as far as I can tell between the brand and generic versions. The real difference is price, no comparison. And this suppliers seem honest and reliable. On the site http://z-isotretinoin.info I've just placed my 3rd order.

I have now been on accutane for almost 3 months now. My face during the first two months was horrible. I think it's getting a little better. My last visit, the derm said it would get a lot better in prob 3 to 4 weeks. it has now been 2 weeks, so i'm hoping she is right!
