Hello everyone, I'm currently taking Roche Accutane the brand name med. for the past two months but now the cost of this medication is not within my budget and I am thinking about going on the generic Accutane I mean $300 for the brand name vs.$10 for the generic brand is a pretty big difference but I wonder if the med. works the same if anyone has taken the generic version of Accutane please help? Tell me about your experience? How were or are your results so far? Thank you...

Hey Edward. No worries on the generic. It works exactly the same as the brand because it's the exact same formula. By FDA law, every medication that comes to the market has an alloted amount of time where it cannot be made into a generic. When the time is up the manufacturer must make public its formula for other drug makers to then produce a generic. I take Claravis by Barr. Worked exactly like when I took the Roche Accutane back when there was no generic. There are a few other generics as well. You just have to check and see which one your insurance covers. I don't think there's any insurance provider who will cover the brand anymore...not when there are now 3 generic. Remember-it's about the brand or manufacturer, it's about the drug. The drug being isotretinoin. Its just like instead of buying tylenol you can by the Target brand or drug store brand. at the end of the day the drug is the same

Thank You Jamie, I just switched to Claravis about a week ago b/c when no one replied to my commet I asked my Derm. when I went in to get another refill for the third month and she told me that Roche Accutane and any generic out there are the same so I got Claravis, well it was the only generic that Walgreens had but anyways I know that your right I was so happy when I only had to pay $10 instead of $300 for Accutane. Now I can save that extra money for something else. And for those of you out there who are skeptical about generic brands especially when it comes to Accutane, My own Derm. and the Pharmacist told me that there is no difference between Roche Accutane or the three generics out there for Accutane which are: 1) Claravis 2) Amnesteem 3) Sotret Any one of these generic Accutane works just as well and it will be prescribed and dispensed under the same restrictions as Roche Accutane. So consider taking generic accutane because it WILL IN FACT save you hundreds of dollars. |

I've been taking Sotret for two months with good results. When I went to get my third refill, I was given Claravis instead. Didn't know until I got home.
Anyone here know of any issues in switching brands/forms mid-treatment like this? My dermatologist says it won't matter. That should be good enough for me, but thought I'd ask anyway. |

Im taking Barr clarvis is there any bad side affects you noticed different from the accutane brand name and how did clarvis work for u opposed to the accutane |
||||
I have a question for you. Is your copay for the Claravis different than the Sotret? |
||||

Well when it comes to having medical or medicare insurance then your like me a 17 year old working part time with 95% of his paycheck which is $271 for Sotret. Sotret 10mg $123 40mg $147 total 50mgs for $271. Does it make sense that the 10mg is almost the same? I think NOT. Just started today, someone plz tell me how long until it starts clearing up. Thanks

Hello everyone, I was just prescribed Sotret this week and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what is the best facial moisturizer I can use daily while on this med. My Dr. told me that I'm going to experience dryness and she said I can try Eucerin. Any suggestions???
Thank you. |

1 Mmm I've been off this Accutane for the past two months and I feel fcking beautiful and better than ever before so I'm sorry about your loss but I refuse to believe that a pill is able to make me so depressed that I would kill myself. |

Just bought some generic Isotretinoin called Acnotin which is produced by Mega, has anyone heard of this type?
|
||||
Sorry about your step son man,but accutane has done wonders for many including myself.What has happened to your step son is extremely rare,so saying if you take accutane you will die is a bit of a ignorant statement. |

I also just purchased acnotin but have not yet recieved it. Has anyone heard anything about acnotin?

I just started taking Amnesteem. I was wondering how many Mg's your doctor prescribed you per day. A friend said I was taking a lot. And another friend would like to get on this medication but has no insurance is there any way he can go get the prescription without paying an arm and a leg?

I just started Claravis. I am really excited to have clear skin again. However my lips have never felt so dry. Anyone else? Everything on me is dry and tight. I don't care tho. Anything for clear skin. I am happy to know there are people out there with the same skin as me. All my friends have perfect skin. Soon...so will I. Good luck to the rest of you.

1 You are an idiot and you are part of the problem with this country. Instead of looking for the root cause of your problems, you try to blame others or even companies. Because of you and your group of people, it is now a huge pain in the ass to get Accutane, a perfectly safe and effective drug. |

I have been taking the brand name accutane for about 3 months now. I pay 150 dollars a month. Which isnt too steep because my pharmacy charges 70 dollars for the generic brand. Not sure which one. So i figure spending the extra 70 bucks in a well respected brand would be the better choice. Where do you all go to get this medication at 10 dollars co pay? I have great insurance but maybe im going to the wrong place to get it. Also, ordering accutane online might be cheaper. From what I am aware of, as long as you continue to see your derm everymonth and are under the ipledge system, it is legal? Right?
