Robbie wrote: Hello, i have persistent mild acne, i get around 6 whiteheads and 1 or 2 red inflammed spots. Also i have mild acne on my back but with more inflammed spots aswell. Ive tried zineryt topical and doxyclycline yet none has made a significant difference. My acne is very annoying and can be painful. Is it worth me going on accutane and since my acne is mild, do you think i would get a smaller dose and therefore less side effects? also, can you go to the gym whilst on accutane? for mild acne, are the side effects of accutane worth the clear face? many thanks Dear Robbie. I highly recommend considering any other treatment other than Accutane. I'm guessing most people on this forum are young and looking healthful is of the utmost importance. It was the same for me. I took the drug when I was 18 for mild acne. It cleared up and I was happy for the moment. Unfortunately I was not informed of the other effects the drug could have. At first I just had some mild stomach aches during and after the treatment. But over the years it developed into severe gi problems. It's been 20 years and the problems have only gotten worse. There has been no cure as of yet. If I only knew then what the drug could do. A few years of acne is nothing compared to the decades of pain I have suffered. It's not worth the risk.

Yep, I'v been pretty bloated and all that stuff..The only thing that worked for me is to stop drinking coffee and drink green tea only! Plus I'v had to stop drinking completely, other wise i would get extreme nausea and dizziness

I also have steatocystoma. Have u had any luck finding any info or cure? I currently do incisions and take out 5-10 at a time. Scar is just as noticeable. Nichelle wrote: <quoted text> I experienced what I thought were boils and lumps PRIOR to accutane and also had very slight acne, except that it was cystic in nature. The dermatologists thought that the Accutane might also work to lessen the size and quantity of the lumps. It didn't, it actually seemed to make them more apparant over time. It completely removed the cystic acne however. Turns out though, I didn't have boils, I have a condition caused Steatocystoma Multiplex. Tranlsation multiple under skin cysts. It's a very rare condition - so rare that there is virtually no research on the cure in the US. Google Steatocystoma Myltiplex and see if it's familiar. It took 25 years for me to find out what is. Also, it's thought to be hereditary. Turns out my uncle (who is 60) has had it since adolescence, but thought he had boils all his life and never shared with anyone. I just happen to glance it on his wrist and recognize it. Feel free to let me know if if this applies to you. I'm now on a search to address the condition. Good luck.

Yes, I have had an ongoing stomach problem that is similar to maybe lactose intolerance or IBS, and I have had the problem ever since I stopped taking the medicine and have frequent flare-ups. My stomach will cramp really badly for about 30 minutes or more and I will feel nauseas and then when I finally use the bathroom, it is straight liquid for about 30 minutes or more, while the cramping continues in between using the bathroom. After about an hour or whatever, I feel better until it happens again in a few weeks. When the cramps start, I feel nauseas and sweat, and it is very uncomfortable and since it's not a specific pattern, I cannot feel safe making lots of plans to travel, etc. Does anyone have any remedies for this?

I'm on my 5th year of Accutane (6 months every summer) because it's the only thing that helps my rare sun rash. My face swells and gets covered in huge puss filled spots during the summer.
How safe is Accutane for longer term therapy like mine?

What have they said. Complications can included any of the side effects listed. Like bone loss, Chron's, eye problems, joint problems etc... By the way what is your dose? It is not recommended for long term use.

My bf has just had a course of accutain I know how much he wants clear skin and it has worked but been a very hard journey including depression mood swings chapped lips are painful Raised alt was told to stop by doctor but kept taking on a lower dose until he saw dermatologist he told him he was fine no side effects but this was not true he had been waiting all his life for this magic pill but I am very worried what it has done to his system he has been off the tablets for four days now and aches and been vomiting and really does not feel well I am hoping this may be just a virus? Has any one else that has taken accutane had any side effects after stopping treatment ? A very worried gf.

I've tried both original brand and generic accutane. I prefer generic accutane - There is no difference in effectiveness as far as I can tell between the brand and generic versions. The real difference is price, no comparison. And this suppliers seem honest and reliable. On the site http://z-isotretinoin.info I've just placed my 3rd order.
