I am 17 years old in grade 12. I have fairly bad acne, and nothing seems to work (topical/oral medication). I have visited a dermatologist a few days ago and he suggested accutane. He calls it a ''miracle'' drug that will leave you with clear skin for the rest of your life. Although that sounds amazing, I am concerned that accutane could stunt my growth! I am currently 6'1' but from what doctors have told me I am a "late bloomer" and still have some growing left to do. I am also a wide reciever and I am looking to hopefully get a scholarship to a D1 school, and a few more inches could really help! If someone could tell me the truth about accutane I would really appreciate it!
Thanks

hi, my daughter is 11 and already has bad acne on the forehead and sometimes on the chin and chicks. is it safe to put her on the accutane at this age and save her from all the acne trouble that i can see awaits her ? i've been withacne my whole life, i still have and am almost 40 now. i know she has my genes and would for her to have a happier teenage years.

Yes It does stunt growth do not take it wait till you are done growing please do yourself a favor, I took it at 14 and the stunted growth and depression are real plus all the other stuff it does, hair loss, bowel problems and sooo much more, there are safer more organic products out there!!!
