I am two and a half months on accutane and I got some pretty bad breakouts not going to lie. I know its tough but it will get better from here. I am currently at 50 mg and I will be bumped to 70-80 mg in the coming month. The worst that happend was a new cyst on the opposite side of my face were I already had one. It got really red and very painful and itchy. This is probably cuse the drug is working from inside the system and the moisturizer will be beating it from outside. It sometimes hurts to wash my face and I skip nights of washing but I know it will become better in the coming months. Plus it is winter time so that can make things a little worst cuse of I love to snowboard and going outside usually makes it a bit worst :P. Really looking for it to be gone the time will come! So far really dry lips and skin and if you workout heavy then you get lactic acid into your muscles faster (burning feeling). Overall drink lots of water and keep taking your vitamins and try eating a bit healthier.

Hi you guys :), so im 16 and i suffered acne since i was 9 yrs old,it started with black head on my nose then by the years it just kept getting worst, i tried acne free, proactive, benzoyl %5, doxycicline, sooo many things!, they didn't really work, so i went to the doctor and they decided to send me to the dermatologist so they can put me on accutane. ive heard manyy good things about it, but the side effects scare me D:, i don't want to have deformed babies if i ever get pregnant. the doctor told me they're gonna make me sign papers because its very dangerous and they're also gonna put me on birth control( i heard birth control makes you gain weight?. i have the appointment on march 30th, so a month from now and im really hoping it helps me cure my acne, because im so tired of it!, specially during summer, since im a girl with acne i wear makeup, makeup and sweat= gross, and i cant go on the pools or to the beach without worrying about my skin & how bad it will look. i hope it gets better once i finish the 2-3 months of accutane. good luck to all you guys that are also starting accutane, and give me some advice before i take it... thanks :)

julieta,
first of all, birth control, I've been on that for about half a year now and I haven't experienced weight gain. only about 5-8 pounds, but in half a year, that's nothing to be worried about. I have my appointment on the 21st, so we will be starting accutane together. I'm really hoping things go well. because summer and acne is not a good combination! best of luck to you though (:

I, along with everyone else, am one who has literally tried everything under the sun to get rid of my acne. I am 18 years old, and have had acne for about 4 years. I mainly struggled with the little bumps under the skin, that were most noticeable in photos which was just terrific for my senior year..prom pictures, graduation pictures. YUCK! nightmare...Anyways, I finally got on Accutane after switching my dermatologists...I almost finished with 3 of my 5 months, and I honestly couldn't be happier. At first, it really was horrible. My skin was so dry, my lips were disgusting and my face..well it wasn't getting better, only worse. Up until a couple of weeks ago I didn't see a difference...but now, I have nothing...No pimples, no blemishes, no little bumps. My face is completely clear no matter how stressed out I am, no matter what I do...I haven't broken out. It's amazing. I strongly suggest those of you that are looking for something that works...ask your derm about Accutane. And if you do get on it...Buy the big tube of Aquaphor for your lips. It will save your life!...Let me know if you have any more questions or if I can help you with anything. Best of luck to all.
Did it help with any scaring?

Hello everyone. I have had severe acne for quite some time now but one major thing sets my case aside. The majority of my acne is scarring ( or pigmentation). I started recieving acne about 2 1/2 years ago and I had a terrible habit at picking at my acne ( and popping them). Now a days I still get the odd break out, but overall is slightly improving. The point I'm trying to get across is it a good idea to continue with accutane? I started yesterday and I am quite scared of all the various side effects, and have lately been extremely stressed out. I feel like I would be extremely prone to having the " Major depression" side effect. So with anyone with there 2 cents please, please, respond back ( and please help us keep this forum a fight free zone).

that's a great result with accutane. there are a lot of great stories of success; just be careful of side effects like ulcerative colitis and stomach problems. here's an article of what to watch out for: http://accutanelawsuit-info.com/accutane-side...

I am 13 years old and I am on Accutane I am take 10 mg a day. I have pretty bad acne but nothing near cystic mostly red rashyness on my cheeks. I am almost finished my first week and am actually seeing some results the redness is much better. But I hear that you get a bad breakout on your second week which is the week I will be at sleep away camp and if i get a bad breakout then it would not be good. Does this happen to everyone or only some people because I am really hoping it does not happen to me.

I took Accutane from usa online pharmacy http://isotretinoin-usa.info when I was 18. I had suffered with extremely severe acne since I was 11. Accutane was a miracle. It completely cleared my skin within 4 months with minimal side affects. I did have dry skin and pretty chapped lips for 4 months but for clear skin, it was a price I was willing to pay. Think carefully before taking this medicine due to the severe side effects that some people experience, but for me it was 100% worth it. I am now 21 and have had clear skin ever since. I can remember reading about Accutane before taking it and hoping it would be the solution I had been praying for. To this day, I am very grateful for the impact it has had on my life. I would give it a chance!

hey EVERYONE. i really need some feedback. im in grade 12 and my graduation is in 4 months, its december now and it is at the end of may. i have mild acne and it reaallly annoys me and for grad id like to have clear skin. my derm told me i would be taking the accutane pill once every second day, a low dosage with very few side effects, HOWEVER doesnt this mean that i will have to take it for more then 4 months????? also, my grad pictures are in february and most people on here have stated that the acne gets awful in the first two to three months, thereefore my acne would get bad for my grad pictures???????? i understand that its all worth it in the end, but to take it now? and risk having awful skin for my grad on this drug, or deal with mild skin and take the chance? im not sure what to do, i really need some feedback. oh also most people talk about back pain, ect and i play soccer so again, is this worth it? or should i wait..?? HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

I started acne at a very VERY young age of 8 years old. It was horrible and nobody at my school who was my age had it. I had tried over 45 medicines from pharmacies and prescribed medicines from dermataoligist. I am now age 13 and my acne was still outrageous and by far worse than my friends. I just started taking accutane a month ago, and it has already been a miracle for me. my dermataoligist even said i would prob. only have to be on accutane for 4 months instead of 6 months like all the other patients. If you are questioning accutane and your acne story sounds similar to mine, don't wait to get it. Get it now!

Get it now! I have been taking accutane for 3 months now and my acne has only gotten better by the day. I have a lot of friends that take accutane 2 and we both havent even heard of or witnessed our acne getting worse than it was. I guess it depends on what your skin type is.

I started accutane last January (2011) I was on it for about 3 months. My face cleared and it works amazingly. My skin cleared so perfectly. Then I got really sick and was hospitalized for over a month. I got diagnosed with Colitis. THE ONE DISEASE you can gain from taking this drug. I'm finally healthy again, but my acne has returned. I talked to my doctors and I'm going back on accutane, but I'm very scared. This drug is amazing and will boost your confidence rapidly, but there is some downfalls like what I had to go through. I'm going to pick up my prescription after I type this, just hoping for the best once again! I like accutane enough to go on it again after I got the disease.
